Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus of the college is very good, and as the college is affiliated to North Bengal University, the syllabus is very much comparable to most colleges in India. The evaluation and exam announcements are also done by NBU.

Placement Experience

There are some departments in the college which offer placements, but the frequency is kind of unsatisfactory. Some departments also take care of internships. The professors are always willing to help out in that regard.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fees is nominal and is very much affordable for even a lower middle class/ economically weaker person, and that is a very good thing for Honors programs. The fees for BSc physics per annum is only Rs. 2,122.

Campus Life

The college has several different extracurricular activities such as singing competitions, debates, essay writing competition, And so on. The NSS and NCC are also very active and always taking on new people.

Admission

The admission process for Alipurduar College is mostly online. You have to go to the college's online admission portal and fill out all the details and uploaded all the documents, press submit and you will be redirected to the payment portal.

Faculty

The faculty in general is very good. Many of them have PhD's and the college hires only on the basis of UGC's regulations. Some professors in the Physics department are excellent and use innovative methods to teach.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
