Queen Mary's College is a Government college, affiliated to University of Madras, Chennai. It offers UG and PG courses like BA, MA, M.Sc., M.Phil. with a number of specializations. Entrance exam is required for some courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was spread over 2 years, and included almost the same number of practicals as theory lectures. Everything we studied in chapters, we saw it for ourselves in the well-equipped labs.
Placement Experience
Every year, number of students to be recruited through campus kept increasing. From our batch, over 1,000 students were placed. Big companies like ICICI Bank, My Money Mantra, RIDDHI CORPORATE SERVICES, etc. came to recruit us.
Fee Structure And Facilities
To me, it looked like very, very feasible. It seemed all of us could pay the amount. The yearly fees of my chosen course was around ?600, so ?1,200 for 2 years. I was very happy seeing this because generally courses cost pretty much on the wallet.
Campus Life
We had activities related to NSS, RRC, Rotary Club, LSS, etc. We had a long, wide playground where we would play Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Hockey, Table Tennis, and would have regular matches.
Admission
I got admission here because I got enough score in graduation, and selection criterion here is merit-based. It was a simple admission process, didn't take much time. I chose Biochemistry as specialization because it was something new for me to explore.
Faculty
The faculty were well-qualified in teaching their respective subjects in our course. Their lectures were rather interesting and incredibly knowledgeable than boring and stressful. The professors cared too much for us.
