Course Curriculum Overview

The course duration is that of three years and the focus was given both on macro economics as well as the statistics portion. We were told to follow all the newspapers to be aware of the economic changes happening.

Placement Experience

The placement cell works well to groom the students to be interview ready. TCS and BPO are some of the companies that visit frequently and internships are offered to the students as well. Placements are offered more to pg students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The first year fees for the BA courses is Rs 3155 per year which I think is totally affordable and feasible for anyone. The faculty and facilities provided are also good. Someone who want to save money for masters can consider this option.

Campus Life

There are various opportunities in terms of extracurricular activities that are offered to the students. We were a part of various cultural festivals that college took part in and helped improve our soft skills.

Admission

Admission to all the undergraduate courses including BA and BCom is based on the marks obtained in class 12th i.e strictly merit.I chose economics because of my interest in the field of statistics and I wanted to make a career out of it.

One thing that I'm forever grateful for is that my teachers were absolute gems. They were always motivated to teach and they tried to taught us in different ways to make us understand better. All the teachers are highly experienced.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
