Review of Directorate of Distance Education, Vidyasagar University

This college has everything for its students. It has a nice well-maintained and equipped labs which are available 24*7. We also have spacious classroom with good quality teaching and also a cafeteria providing us with good food. The college also has an auditorium for various events like seminars, convocations etc.

This is a good institute in terms of course curriculum. Exams and labs have a decent gaps which leaves us with a chilled environment and provides us with enough time to complete the course. For 2 years we have 4 semesters in total.

Well, this college has a kind of good placement and job chances for every student. It might be a little difficult for some students to make it up to their final stage of the job interview but can try for any off-campus well-established companies, let it be private or government. We have job offers coming from companies such as ICICI banks, Wipro, TCS and many other reputed companies.

From my personal experience, I can totally say that the fee organization across any department or courses offered by this college is very much economical and reasonable as well. As far as I remember, the course fees for my PG department was a total of Rs 9,300 for 2 years. This fees structure includes other fees such as admission fee and renewal fee, tuition fees of Rs 5000 in total and total examination fees of Rs 1000. Students from any background can avail various courses offered by our college at minimal range of fees with good experience.

We have various extra-curricular activities to do such as active participation in blood donation camps, any other social issues camps, seminars related to our course, several other useful workshops and most importantly sports tournaments. We have a sports department that organizes Inter College Football, Kabadi, Volleyball and several other sports activities.

Yes I had opted for hostel and I am very fond of it. The hostel facilities are really cool and good being a government institution. We have a common room with TV and a telephone. The rooms are quite spacious and clean toilets as well. We also have indoor sports room like chess, caroom, badminton etc. There also Wi-Fi facility with 24*7 high speed internet connectivity. So overall with my personal experience I would rate this hostel 8 upon 10.

From my personal experience when I was a part of this institute, our seniors who are now a part of our college alumni group were very supportive and really kind and helpful as well. They were very cool and treated every junior as if we were their own. Similarly now we have a great bond with the students now studying there and have a contact with many of them as well.

To get admission in this college the process is very simple and easy. After the completion of graduation with decent and eligible CGPA, I had to fill application for various college some with entrance exams and some with interviews before admission. But in this I got admission on the basis of marks I scored in my last semester paper. As my name was on this college's merit list, I was selected to take admission after document verification.

The faculties of our college are quite creative and brilliant as well. They are also very much helpful in every aspect. Most of the teachers are highly qualified and well-knowledgeable with vast experiences. They are also very considerate and helpful to every student. They do not discriminate any students is anyway. We are very much thankful to these professors be being such guidance for our better future.
