Course Curriculum Overview

The course is very good and has all the necessary subjects that you need for a good foundation in the IT field. The syllabus is very learner oriented, and there is a lot of lab work and work to be done on computers.

Placement Experience

The Computer Applications department offers placements in information tech firms such as Tata Communication Services and other nearby schools as well, and the process was good. There is very heavy competition for placements however.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees depends on the board at which you obtained your qualifying exam from. For the students of the west Bengal state board, the fees is INR 7,115 and for other boards such as ICSE and CBSE the yearly fees is INR 7,615.

Campus Life

There are several activities and events held in the college for all round development of the students. The NCC unit is very active and has a lot of training programs and other events throughout the year, and so is the case with NSS.

Admission

The college admission is completely online. The application form and other guidelines are available on the the official website. The admission process itself is very easy, you have to fill all the details and upload documents carefully. Admission is given solely on the basis of merit.

Faculty

The faculty was awesome. The college course has a lot of computer lab work so they were extremely helpful t giving us guidelines and resources to learn in the best manner. They all had very good qualifications.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

The applied for Chandigarh University.I got confirmed admission from the CU and AGC.I choose Asansol GIRLS college because it is affordable for my parents and it is near to my house..CU fees structure is very expensive. I didn't get any rejection from any other college that I applied too. The admission process of my college is very simple all you need to do to fill the form and provide necessary details of 10th and 12th exam. And submit after a month the list will be released on the official website of my college. After checking your name, you need to pay the require amount for the courses.. after few days they will call you for documents verification and there's no mandatory exams for admission, 12th result is sufficient.My overall experience is good....Read More
