Course Curriculum Overview
MD was a three-year duration course. We had two examinations in a year, assignment submission etc. Components of our course were theoretical knowledge, practical and clinical skills, Thesis skills, Attitudes including communication skills, Training in research methodology.
Placement Experience
The college has a good placement cell. They also provide internships in health care sectors. Many of my batchmates were placed in health care institutes and research organizations with a good starting salary of Rs 40,000- 2,00,000.
College Events
Coimbatore Medical College conducts an inter-college competition, cultural and sports day called ?nastomosis?in which all the students of our university and other 25 medical college students participate together. Other events like Literature reading, Art beat, college fest, convocation day are celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees for MD is ?40,800. The college provides quality education and also the infrastructure is great. The fees are of a reasonable amount compared to the other colleges. CMC also provides scholarships and internship opportunities. The examination fees and other fees are to be paid separately.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarships are provided by the central and state government annually. Various Scholarships like Community Scholarship, Minority Scholarship, First Graduate Scholarship, Differently Abled Scholarship, Central Sector Scholarship, are provided by CMC.
Campus Life
The college has a peaceful atmosphere. The university provides with study halls, clean classrooms, gym facilities in the hostel, good food in the canteen, Wi-Fi connection, library, labs etc. The college gives importance to both sports along with academic learning.
Admission
It felt great. Getting admission to Coimbatore Medical College, as it is a reputed institute. I had set a target of scoring the highest marks and I achieved it with a GPA of 3.7. That way I also got admission here. Once you are selected you?l be called upon to deposit your fees and other expenses.
Faculty
The faculty was nice. They were always present before us in class. They would come prepared for any projects in class and make the discussion more engaging. They would provide us with a rationale of learning and applying new knowledge. We had a fixed grading scale prepared by our teachers.
