Course Curriculum Overview
The design of a Ph.D. course is mostly the thesis on which we work throughout the years. There are of course one or two exams over the years which are a part of the curriculum and contribute to the score. The research atmosphere is great, and the areas of research are very good.
Placement Experience
A few companies in and around Chennai often come for placement, but mostly students have to look for themselves. The placement scenario can doubtless improve a lot. There's no scope for internships being provided to the doctorate students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for the Ph.D. course is about 20,000 rupees per year. It is a quite affordable amount to pay for the course, and even factoring in additional fees like one-time admission payments of around 2,000 rupees, it is still feasible.
Campus Life
Different activities are available for students to participate in, like sports or cultural activities. There are workshops, seminar, trainings that help all of us students develop different skills that would help us later.
Admission
The admission process for getting into a Ph.D. course at NITTTR Chennai is through written and oral entrance tests conducted by the department. The eligibility criteria, of course, is a Master's degree in a related discipline from a recognised University and at least 5.0 CGPA. I was selected on the basis of the tests, and I took admission here then.
Faculty
The Professors are very good, and vastly experienced researchers. It is a fantastic experience to work under their guidance. They help us in every way, from the start till the thesis defence, and even beyond.
