Course Curriculum Overview

As the name of the course suggests, a of emphasis is put on research in the duration of four years. Research was in the forms of field work as well as case studies and the real problems to tackle with.

Placement Experience

The placement cell of the college is very active. However, even in that there is a proper fitness and suitability test taken to give the best. Average salary package per month for a PhD student was Rs 45,000 which is quite nice!

Fee Structure And Facilities

The first year fees for the JRF course is Rs 3 Lakh and yes, it is not that cheap. It is because it is one of the few colleges offering such fellowships and the facilities which are provided by the college are also ample.

Campus Life

There are academic based extracurriculars in the form of guest lectures and workshops that happen. Also, various quizzes and compete take place to widen our horizons. There is a general peace and harmony in the college.

Admission

The admission for JRF in Physics is based on the marks obtained in JEST/GATE in physics only or CSIR UGC NET. After that there is an interview round too followed by the final selection. The application forms are available online.

The faculty of the college is really qualified and among the best in India. They are quite experienced and have a lot of expertise in their field. They taught us like any amateur only so that we grasp everything.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
