Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of the course is vast and covers all the major books and anecdotes of famous writers and authors. Besides this, students are given a considerable amount of autonomy to read their own books.

Placement Experience

The placement opportunities of the college are extraordinary. A student can expect a great package upon the completion of the course as the college collaborates with various prestigious companies which happen to hire students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for completing M.A. Hons. English is pretty feasible and value for money. As a two year long, full time, on-campus course costs ?11,400 for the complete course which is not only affordable but inexpensive too.

Campus Life

There are several extracurricular activities organised by the college throughout the year. These activities are meant to bring students closer to each other in order to learn something from each other.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumnis of the college are too good to be true. They are very successful in their lives and despite that, they take out time to visit us and help us in any way possible. I am glad to have such seniors.

Admission

I am currently pursuing Masters of Arts in English from Directorate of Distance Education Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. This college is renowned and for all the right reasons and therefore, I am happy to study here.

The faculty of the college is really good. They are kind and helpful and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that they are reservoirs of knowledge and there is literally no end to what one can learn from them.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

THERE ARE FAR BETTER OPTIONS

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
