Remarks

Overall the university is good and the facilities provided are also satisfactory. The major advantage being the nominal fee it charges which enables every person to gain education and also scholarships for those who are needy and meritorious.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum focusses on the overall development of the students. The course teaches us the theoretical, practical as well as performing skills. The skills acquired through the course are relevant in teaching and research and most importantly, the course prepares us for public communication, reporting and entertaining industry.

Placement Experience

2.5

There is a training and placement cell which assists the students in finding appropriate jobs. However, not all departments get job opportunities. The placement cell needs to be improved. It is not that efficient as it should be. But, students from science and commerce departments can surely avail the job opportunities as some highly reputed firms come to offer the opportunities and the packages can be quite good as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is absolutely feasible and nominal. The fee for the course which I am currently pursuing is 10,020 (for the first semester ) which is actually quite less if we compare it with other universities and institutions.

Campus Life

Extracurricular activities are organised all around the year to keep the students engaged and it actually gives them a chance to their away from their limits, fears and anxieties. It gives them a chance to enhance their skills. Sports competitions, seminars, workshops, talk shows and social service campaigns are organised.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel infrastructure is actually decent. There are well furnished and spacious dining rooms. In the girl's hostel, there is a volleyball court inside the hostel campus. Sports equipment such as cricket bats, balls, wickets and nets are there. There are a photocopier machine and a water heater also. The hostel also has a high-speed wifi connection.

Admission

The admission in the university is merit-based for undergraduate courses while for students pursuing M.Phil or P.hd the process consists of an entrance test and an interview round. I got admission by going through the entrance test and viva round. The level of entrance test was not that hard and I was easily able to score the cut off marks. The viva round was quite mind-boggling but I answered the questions quite confidently. For the postgraduate courses, the university has reserved 60 per cent of seats for those who have completed their graduation from the University of North Bengal. The rest 40 per cent of seats are for those who did their graduation from another university.

Faculty

3

The teachers are highly qualified and proficient in the subject matter they teach. The teaching methods are quite efficient. They are properly trained and they teach us in an ethical manner. There are doubt clearing sessions every week where the students can discuss their doubts and weak areas. The teachers are interactive and friendly.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
