A top degree college at Birbhum

The Rampurhat College is a Government sponsored degree college, which is affiliated to the University of Burdwan. It is accredited by the NAAC committee of India. The college strives to take the social responbilities into the student community.

The college follows CBCS pattern. We have core courses, discipline specific electives, still enhancement courses, generic electives and practicals. We study papers like cell biology, genetics, chordates, non-chordates, physiology, evolution, ecology, and various culture techniques.

The college have a placement cell. But the cell directly don't offer jobs for the students. Rather they just train the students to get placed in the different jobs. So the college doesn't guarantee any job offers.

The fee structure is so affordable. The amount is much lower when compared to any other colleges offering B.Sc., Zoology. They also provide scholarships to support the students in tuition and other fees.

The college celebrates National days, annual functions, fresher's party, and several cultural events. There is a Vishaka committee which promotes gender equality among the students and staffs. The student health home organizes health related seminars. We also have a grievance redressal cell and an anti-ragging cell.

The hostel accommodation facilities are arranged inside the campus. The roomai are on an average quality and with basic amenities. The mesa food is also not much good when compare with outside food. The college has to develop the hostel infrastructure.

The college holds all the passed out students under one roof called Alumni Association. All the alumni can be directly contacted through the facebook group. They already cherish their good old memories in this campus.

The admission process involves applying through online portal, saving a copy of the application and waiting for the merit list. They completely follow the eligibility norms prescribed by the University of Burdwan.

The department is specialized in conducting student seminars. This is done to engage the students in research activities. The faculties are well experienced and handles the topics with an ease. We have about four faculty members.
