Madura College Journey

My MA Sociology course was of 2 years which means 4 semesters. The course taught about major specializations Religion and Society, Economic Sociology, Sociology of India etc. It includes study of social interaction, social culture & relations. It was purely theoretical based.

The college does not offers much placements and internships. The students can give out campus interviews in various sectors. The employment can be in various sectors like public relation firms, health and welfare organizations, consultants, journalism, etc. The basic starting salary for MA Sociology candidate ranges from INR 3.5-5 LPA.

The fee of the college is very less which one can imagine. It only charges Rs.708 for first year and Rs.228 for second which means entire course was completed in Rs.936. The EWS are also provided scholarship benefits.

The students of every department could freely participate in any of the extracurricular activities. These activities included drama events, seminars, workshops, fest, tournaments, sports meet and various other programs.

My admission to this college was done after I grabbed a copy of form from the office and submitted the form with all the necessary information. I then waited for the merit list to be released. After two weeks of wait, I found my name in the merit list and I had to be present at college for further admission process and confirm my admission.

Faculty of our department perceived student needs and keeps informed on individual progress. They used to do their best to keep students apprised of their progress, successes, and needs. They were open to all kind of suggestions and took time and effort to know the students and their needs.
