Course Curriculum Overview
The duration of the course is five years in which we have three years of full study and last two years of practical training, research writing, submitting thesis, designing programs etc. In the seventh semester we undergo a practical training which is of 24 weeks in approved architectural firms/sites in order to gain some knowledge about the industry. We get to understand the techniques and science related to construction sector.
Placement Experience
Top companies which visited my college were IMAXE, Hafeez contractor, Sahara Group, Chitra Vishwanath architects etc. The highest package offered was 15 lpa and the average was 4 lpa. Summer internships were also offered to students in construction sector with minimum stipend of 8,000 per month.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The university fees of the college is 12,000. Tuition fees of 1,15000 also needs to be paid.Security deposit amount of 5000 is to be paid at the time of admission. Student activity charges of 1000 are also paid along with the admission fees. The examination fees is to be paid by Demand Draft. The total fees for 5 years is approx to 5.17 L which is quite feasible.
Campus Life
Educational tour from Dharmshala to Chandigarh were organised last year so that the students get to study the vernacular architecture through documentation in the hills. Special seminars on topics like Inspiration from architecture, Professional practices, Methodology of architectural thesis etc are held by our professors to give us a wide knowledge about the subjects. Cultural programs such are painting, dancing, craft making, pottery, t-shirt dyeing etc are conducted by the college council to boost the morale of the students.
Admission
You can apply for B.Arch with your NATA scorecard. Along with that a candidate should have at least 50% marks in class 12th from a recognized board with mathematics as a compulsory subject. A 10+3 diploma degree with 50% marks is also eligible for admission. Merit list will be prepared on the combined scores of class 12th and online examination. A cut off will be declared by the college council. If you are lucky enough to clear the cut off you will be called for document verification and granted admission in the college.
Faculty
The teachers of our college are very helpful and they explain the concepts of architectural design, basic design and visual arts, theory of structures etc with clarity so that later on we do not posses any problem. Projects are assigned to us to increase the creativity and team building skills and observant attitude of the students. I would rate their teaching methodology 4.5/5
