Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum had important subjects and interesting ones as well. The course was informative, building on what we had studied in our high school days and introducing more complex concepts. The laboratories supplemented our learning, while the examinations made sure we always kept in touch with the subjects.
Placement Experience
There are not too many placements in the college, but there is certainly a Counselling and Placement cell. They encourage students to prepare for possible job interviews and also try to bring firms for placement to the campus
Fee Structure And Facilities
The yearly fee for the B.Sc. Honours courses stands at around 2,000 rupees yearly. It's quite low an amount, with the total cost standing at aroung 6,000 without hostel/mess fees. It's affordable and feasible for nearly every eligible student, making it a widely accessible college.
Campus Life
There's NCC/NSS on campus, and there is good encouragement for both indoor and outdoor games. There are trained sports instructors to help the students, and an annual athletic meet conducted by the college. There are other activities too, and the college is constantly updating the infrastructure.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel only became functional in 2017-18, which was the first academic year I was a student in the college. The fact that the hostel building - named Maitree - is still quite new means that the premises are clean. There's regular water and electricity supply, with good security as well.
Admission
The eligibility criteria for applying here was a valid result in the 10+2 examinations and for the Honours courses, at least 45% marks obtained. The admission process is based on these results only.
Faculty
The faculty helped us as they were able to. They taught us quite nicely and were available whenever we needed to ask any question. They prepared us to do well in the examinations, and also guided us through the subjects for a deeper understanding.
