Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum here for the bachelors in science is the standard curriculum followed by colleges across India as stipulated by UGC. Although there is a lack of research opportunities due to there being no masters offered in the college, the undergraduate courses are up to par and prepare you for masters adequately. There are also bachelors in commerce and arts at offer in this college.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of the college is sup-par and only around 20-30% of the students get placed. Most of these placements are given to students with exceptional academics. The job offers average around Rs 20,000 per month. However, it is value for money since the college fees is so low.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for all courses offered in Raniganj Girls College is very cheap and only costs around Rs 4000-6000 for 3 years with the amount varying depending on the degree (being more for BSc due to lab costs as compared to BA and BCom). This makes it a total value for money and solves the dire problem of the education of girls in this area.
Campus Life
There are a set of extracurricular activities on offer in this college. For those interested in the challenges of discipline and physical dexterity may join the National Cadet Corps (NCC). Those interested in personality development through community service may become part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. There?s also Eco-Focus for those interested in preservation of the environment and sustainable development.
Hostel Facilities
The girl?s hostel of Raniganj Girl?s College named ?Maitree? was inaugurated on 28th February, 2014 and become functional in the academic year 2017-18. It has a capacity for housing 26 boarders only and is administered directly by the principal of the college with the help of a resident Warden and Hostel Committee.
Admission
Admission takes place solely on the basis of merit of higher senior secondary examination results i.e. 12th grade from any recognised examination board. To be eligible one needs to secure a minimum of 40% in their 12th. I got into the course of my choice after the list came out.
Faculty
The faculty is adequately qualified, and there is ample amount of support offered to students who take their studies seriously by the faculty, and the faculty lends you their support in full. They are dedicated towards their passion of teaching and take it very seriously.
