Course Curriculum Overview
The course is a comprehensive overview of the History subject, as much as possible. It's a vast subject, so the topics included had to chosen carefully, and that's exactly what they did. A good choice of topics, along with great teaching methods helped in gaining a deeper understanding. The allied subjects of Tourism and Principles of sociology provide additional skill sets that would be helpful to us in the job sphere and for future prospects.
Placement Experience
The college has a Career Guidance and placement cell that helps students about everything related to that. They conduct soft-skill training nd orientation programmes, and interview preparation. Firms such as Helen O Grady International Drama Company, IDBI, HDFC Life, various schools and colleges visit the campus for recruitment. There are more companies, but not everyone looks for a B.A. history graduate. There are job fairs held by the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very low, making the course feasible for a wide range of students. Women from the poorer sections or rural areas can attend college at an affordable cost. The yearly fee is only 795 rupees.
Campus Life
There's a variety of extracurricular activities one can do on campus. A number of clubs are present - debate, environment, health and fine arts, media, quizzing are only some of the activities that the clubs involve in. The sports scene is also vibrant, with basketball, cricket, hockey, table tennis and many other games played regularly. There's a well-stocked library too.
Hostel Facilities
There are three hostel blocks, and a lot of students coming from afar take hostel accomodation. The facilities are great, with well-ventilated rooms, daily water supply, enetertainment and recreational facilities, sports, and infirmary.
Admission
The admission to the B.A. course is based on the results of 10+2 examinations. The application was made online, and after verifying certificates and setting a cut-off, they released a list of selected students. I was on that list, and I took admission. I wanted to take admission in a Women's college, and Auxilium College has a great reputation, being one of the oldest women's colleges in the state.
Faculty
The faculty members were good to us. Their teaching methods were likeable, and the always seemed genuinely interested in taking the classes. Not only from an exam perspective, but their words of advice were also helpful in an overall sense.
