All About Raniganj Girls College

Raniganj Girls College is NAAC Accredited college established in 1980 in Bundwan, West Bengal. It comprises a total of 29 courses across 6 streams. It is approved by UGC and affiliated to Kazi Nazrul University. The courses offered are for UG and UG honours. It provides decent facilities like Library, Hostel, Canteen, Computer Lab, Laboratories. It?s an all girls college spread over 6 acres, imparting quality education to the girls at affordable rates. It educates socially and economically backward students upon a strong foundation of secular, humanitarian world view. It constantly transforms itself into a modern centre of learning by keeping up to the contemporary standards.

The Course Curriculum followed at my college is the basic layout followed in most colleges in India. The course is grouped according to the four major subfields of political science: political theory, Indian politics, comparative politics, and international relations. A three year course is divided into six semesters, two per year. Exams happen post each semester including internal assessments.

Due to the variety of courses offered and the hard work put in by the college faculty and students, RGC enjoys an aggregate yearly rise in Placements from various leading firms across a multitude of sectors. Placement is not guaranteed by my college but students are given a lot of opportunities for the same.

The fee at my college per year for a BA course is ?1,975 and a total for three years it is ?5925. The fee is very feasible and it gives students an opportunity to learn without paying a high price for education at a good college as mine.

There are some extension activities that fall outside the realm of the normal curriculum of college from which we can chose from and become a part of. Some of the activities are, National Cadit Corps, National Service Scheme and Eco- Focus. It has zero tolerance against any form of discrimination based on religion, caste or gender.

RGC follows a close interconnection of the physical, moral and intellectual ties with our Alumni. We have constantly produced great women innovators and thinkers ? all sphere heading change as successful global citizens excelling in their respective fields and making the country and college proud, globally. I have met some great Alums from my college at a workshop that was held by the Political Science Department. It helped me build my confidence and they suggested me some really nice internships I can do while in college.

Enrolment in the college is completely merit based. The minimum marks required for admission to honour courses is 45%. I filled the application online on the website and paid online itself. It was followed by a cut off list upon which I got to know about my admission. I got into my desired course and completed my admission process.

My college is academic oriented and has some of the best faculty you would find. Each faculty member at my college has great passion for teaching and a desire to make a difference in our students? lives. For them the students remain at the forefront of everything they do, with their best interests at the heart of every decision they make while imparting knowledge to each student.
