Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not that hard. The specialisation course focuses on one aspect only so the course is not vast. Exams are held regularly and it is necessary to qualify them. Also, internals and practicals are taken by the college faculty.
Placement Experience
There is an absence of a placement cell. However, the college makes us competent enough and we can get jobs independently in any decent hospital or medical firm. Some of the students opt to open their own clinics while some of them apply for jobs by themselves.
College Events
The university organises special guest lectures to inculcate research culture among the students. DeMedCon is a specially designed research conference organised for undergraduate courses. Sankeerna is the annual magazine where students can express themselves through literature. It is an initiative to encourage students to use their fundamental right of freedom of expression.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee charges for postgraduate courses are quite moderate. They might be affordable for some and not for others. For me the charges are feasible. The fee charged for my course is around 4 lakh rupees.
Fees and Financial Aid
The institute provides several scholarships to the students for their welfare. Sri Ramakrishna Hegde scholarship is awarded to the GM students and the Sri Devaraj Urs scholarship is for OBC students. The total amount of scholarships awarded is around 28,00,000. Students can also apply for scholarships and financial assistance from the Karnataka government.
Campus Life
The infrastructure facilities of our college are amazing. The campus is surrounded by lush green trees. There is a library which is the information resource centre for all academic purposes. Books are available in hard copies and also accessible through the internet. There are a canteen, a computer lab and medical labs for different courses where practicals for different courses are conducted. Our college also focusses on sports for the all-round development of students. The sports department conducts annual sports meet, selection trials and training programs for different sports.
Admission
The admission to postgraduate courses is granted on the basis of the scorecard of NEET PG entrance exam. After the exam, an online counselling session is held to shortlist the candidates. The application procedure is online and after the admission, the documents need to be verified.
Faculty
The faculty of our college is professionally trained and experienced. Some of them have done 20 years of medical practice. The faculty members are polite and friendly to us. They guide us and also tell us about the real-life challenges faced by a doctor.
