Remarks

NEET is Mandatory for Admission as of 2022. Students need to clear a certain cutoff to get management and NRI seats. College don't have eligibility criteria of their own. They just follow whatever criteria the NMC has fixed. Counselling is through MCC only and no other backdoor option except for Stray Mopup round of Counselling. College does not provide any reservation benefits.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose MBBS because it is a financially stable career. There are three departments in first year each having 6 to 7 professors. There are 150 students. Most of the professors are MD in their respective Subjects. The teaching is mostly done through ppts and practicals. There are three internal exams and one university exam each year plus Weekly PATs. It's not difficult to pass if you study well

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Students have to complete compulsory internship at the end of 4.5 years in attached hospital(RL jalappa hospital and research center) They rotate between various departments. Hospital pay some bare minimum salary to the interns.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is 15.5 lakh per year for 2021 batch and 17.6 lakh per year for 2022 batch. Fee hike policy is not fixed but they will charge fixed fee for whole course whatever you pay in 1st year. Hostel fee is variable for boys and girls. A scholarship is also provided to 15 general and 15 OBC students based on their NEET rank(in 1st year) and university exam marks(2nd year onwards)

Campus Life

4

Annual fest is PARVA which is conducted every year in September and there are various small events occurring every month. Central library is Huge, you can literally get every book here from AK jain to BRS physiology. Classrooms are equipped with ACs(not central) and with projectors. There are various clubs like literature, art, music etc

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels are actually very nice considering the rent we have to pay. The weather of kolar is pleasant so you don't need ACs. The rooms are well lit. Water is clean. Hot water is available only in mornings. Mess have both South indian and North indian dishes but they keep reducing the quality of food throughout the year. Fee for boys hostel is 90k including mess and 70k for girls. Registration process is bit hectic.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
