India's first agriculture University and I compared it with BHU where I was selected but Pantnagar ranking was at top and also my cousins told me how it is one of the best University for agriculture so I simply joined Pantnagar. Agriculture as a course was my priority after I MBBS as I was not interested in dental and I know how agriculture is important to us and I want to uplift the farmer's status in India.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course need to be upgrade as agriculture now need technology. I am seeing people from tech are doing agri business and are really doing great while agri graduate don't think that way.it due to the course and the academic trend which need to be changed.
Internships Opportunities
YesI got internship at village agro as business development intern.I had to onboard the farmer and vendors of Maharashtra.For this I had to talk to them in decent hindi and yes with a good understanding and with respect as farmers don't get the real value of their produce so from this supply chain system we provide them the best rate across the market.
Placement Experience
In various AGRI sectors and allied forces.Seed companies, agri inputs, pesticides, fertilizer firms, some government organisations take us after exams, Agri startups like udaan,bigbasket, ninja cart etc.
College Events
Well one can enjoy every thing and can excel in whatever field he/she may like. With a great big stadium to national level fest of spic macay and paper presentation. Means one can never regret atall after coming here.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being general and mediocre I never got anyWhat should I describe in 200 words?See if you are good in sports there is one scholarship for I think rupees 10000 and for economically weaker section there are more scholarship. Yes if you are an ICAR candidate the you will get 1lack scholarship for entire course.
Campus Life
It's great and unique. With max area Pantnagar University is Asia's second largest agriculture University it's great. We are given individual rooms right from second year onwards.There is a huge library with really fascinating infra. Stadium is big and you all all the sports facility. There is a separate online computer centre which you have access till 10 at night. The place is really big and one is advised to have a bicycle (ug)
Hostel Facilities
For girls it's amazing. For boys it's heaven I mean you are given private room and then yes the boys washroom is not very good in some hostels. Food is amazing and you will really enjoy the taste. There are lots of events in every hostel. You have access to television and yes you get a nominal high speed wifi connectivity. You are more comfortable in your hostel and it's complete chill over there
