I took the Kerala Entrance Examination.I actually opted for this college because of my sister as she said Chengannur Engineering College is a reputed college and the job opportunities and placement chances are higher than most other colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college offers three Under Graduate Programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The college also offers two Post Graduate Programmes - M. Tech.(Electronics) Programme with specialization in VLSI & Embedded System & M.Tech (Computer Science)) in Image Processing.
Internships Opportunities
The main recruiters are TCS( Tata Consultancy Services)and UST Global, Nest , Qburst. In 2014 other than the main recruiters companies like IBS, CTS, Verizon, Speridian also recruited students in small number.
Placement Experience
The college offers good placement and job opportunities.There is a Training and Placement Cell, (TPC) which is a group of active students, guided by Staff-in-Charge .Which helps the students to face competitive examinations and interviews through intensive training programs which almost guarantees placement of students.
College Events
A lot of events are conducted and celebrated. There is a technical and cultural festival called Summit which is held every two years. Other than that there is Onam celebration and Christmas celebration. Sports is conducted every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of the programme is decided by IHRD every year before admission. During my admission, the merit seat fees for any B.tech programme was 20000 rupees and the management seat fees for any Btech programme was 65000 rupees.For NRI students the fees varies.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't availed any special scholarship but I have heard that some of my friends got some good scholarship, but I dont know the details.One of the scholarship I heard was the Central Sector Scholarship butI don't know much about it as I was not eligible for that particular scholarship.
Campus Life
I think the gender ratio will be close to 1:1. But in my class the number of girls were a little more than the number of boys .The possibilities for various extracurricular activities is very high. There is football ground, basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students are very helpful, not only in academics but also in all major and minor activities occurring in the college. In academics the senior students helps the junior by giving their old textbook and lecture notes by which the junior are able to prepare for the examination .Almost all of the college events are done by the mutual working and understanding of both the junior and senior students.
