Entrance Preview
Kerala Engineering Entrance is required to get admission to CET. I got an entrance rank of 479. Even though i would have got Mechanical or Electronics branches (General seat), i chose Computer Science branch because i liked it more. I chose this college because it is the number one college in Kerala after NIT kozhikode.
Course Curriculum Overview
The University is kerala university. Syllabus is almost similar to other universities. All the teaching faculties are old and experienced. They are well qualified. They are only few guest lecturers even though in computer science branch. You can clear all your doubts with this faculty.
Internships Opportunities
I didnt go for any internship. Eventhough internship facilities are available, Students should find it themselves and go for it. Some companies call for internships from CET, interested candidates can go.No stipend was given to any of my friends.
Placement Experience
The placement cell is very active here. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, CTS, TCS, Oracle, IBM, HCL etc have come here, since it is the best college in kerala. Normal salary range is between 3-4lakhs per annum. Almost all students who dont have huge backlogs will get placed.
College Events
The biggest festival here is the arts fest called DHWANI. It is conducted every year. There are also tech fests done every 2 years called DRISHTI .These are huge fests that a lot of students from different colleges come to participate in kerala. All of you can participate. Its a tight competition to win.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college have a lot of scholarships from PTA fund, college fund etc. The govt fees per year is 6500 per year.Top ranked students admitted to college will get free of fees. You can also apply for other scholarships like merit cum means, PM scholarship etc. Loan facilities are as per bank standards.
Campus Life
This college has a very old campus but beautiful. Boys are greater than girls in this college.There are a lot of students wandering in colour dresses since various courses like M.tech are offered here. Labs are good. Extracurricular activities are encouraged. Sports and arts are held every year. If you have some talent they give the support to develop it but you have go after it and ask permissions.They wont come after you.
Alumni/Alumna
Successfull alumni students are called and will have discussions with the current students. There is an alumni fund also. College seniors do rag juniors. Not in a serious way and not in an easy way. They will become friendly later. Anti ragging cell is present there.
