Remarks
College management is poor sometime. They don't listen to student problems. They delay in forms or funds. they are sometimes rude. Apart that the college is beautiful and calm. There is no disturbance if u love silence and mountains.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is quite good. There is semester system. Test are being after every 2 months and then final end sem exams. it's not yet exactly groomed to provide industry-specific knowledge but the teachers are helpful if you really want to do something apart from academics. Campus placements could have been better but due to a remorse area placments are quite awful. Yes, industrial visits are organised for 3rd year every year.
Placement Experience
College do provide good resources for placement.i don't know much about it right now as I am still in 3rd year. Soon I'll know. As far as considered there has been no core placements in course. 30-40% are been placed every year ( just a guess).
College Events
There are 3 main events celebrated in college. 1. JOSH- A sport mania.Whole College participate with great enthusiasm as it's sports event. And everyone loves to play something or other. Plus this is the most relaxed time apart from study. it's an intra event. But after that our college teams go for inter College too i.e UTU games held in dehradun by utu. Then comes 2. GOONJ- it's a cultural event. A one week party for all. Every one enjoys it. It's the only time to showcase your talent. Like dance, singing, drama, choreo, mimics etc. There are many things that happen during this fest. DJ night, celebrity night is being done last 2 days. It's kind of competition too between the departments.that makes it more interesting. 3. Spandan- it's a technical event organised along with goonj. Starting 3 days is technical as our college is engineering and technology based so it gives student an opportunity to apply your study into practically. There are events like, robo wars, hunt games, mind games, hilly billy, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee Structure is quite feasible. The total expense of course of 4 years is around 4 lakhs.( Far less then other private colleges). Payment is accepted in draft, online, or cash. There is no additional fee charges. Admission is purely based on the procedure.
Fees and Financial Aid
College offers scholarships opportunities for students who are top 6 in their branch, Year wise. They are given some relaxation. For that they do study hard. Another scholarship is provided for girls too who are from lower families. During admission time also College gives TFW( tution fee waiver) for students coming from not so rich families.
Campus Life
Gender ratios as of department wise differ. But as a whole it's like 4:10 more. Everyone parties in College be it in hostels or in canteens. Group celebrations, Birthdays etc. There are workshop organised throughout the year. there are societies in college, like the genesis (biotech) SAE gbpec ( mechanical) abhivyakti club, SEE (electrical) etc. Cultural society is SAC i.e (Student activity cell) which organise every event in college. There is no such discrimination among students, be it gender, race or religion. Everyone is equal as we are studying a professional course (mentioned by a senior) there is a culture of saying sir and mam to the seniors too. And that is i guess quite great for ahead. There is no as such politics.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, i live in hostel. In fact everyone lives in hostel as there are no PGs around. Its a village area. You rarely get a room on rent. And pauri city is 11kms far. So students coming from outside prefer hostels. Sharing of my hostel is 4 rn. Its 3 in first year. And 2 in final year. Yes hostel keep changing every year. Hostels are sufficient to meet the number of students whether boys or girls. (Different hostels) Rooms are quite ok ok. Sometimes windows are broken. Or there are insects. There are large amount of monkeys, they roam around and makes the corridor messy. Sometimes it's really difficult to live there. But then there are your friends with whom you forget the surroundings and live happily shouting and cheering.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes there are some of them i have contacts with. And they are helpful too. They had their time here and they are attached too. They do help us as a part of them like family.
Admission
Because I wanted to do engineering. And this college is a government institution. It's located in a beautiful place i.e ghurdauri some kms before pauri. I got admission through JEE. After that I enrolled in UTU counseling for the state colleges. And luckily I got this one. It's in top 3 of uttarakhand.
Faculty
Faculties are both good and bad. There are 2-3 lectures of a subject in a week including 1 practical. Teachers are aged above 30 and with good qualifications. All of them are good at their subjects. Some are IITians, some are PhDs etc. They teach nicely. And they do clear things to students. Few teachers have industry experience. They are best to be around.
