A review about our college

I choose this college because it's campus is good than other colleges under JNGEC but JNGEC don't have hostel facility yet. So i choose RGGEC instead of JNGEC. The good aspects of my college is that it has a good campus containing all facilities regarding the branches available in the college and the bad aspects of my college is that it is situated in a small village or a can say that it is situated away from the main city so it takes time to reach there (at big market). The admission process is that firstly, you have to clear the entrance exam which is hpcet and jee mains. If you got the marks above than the cut off marks issued by the university then you are able to take part in the counseling. In counseling, they issued a seat to you in the college on the basis of your marks in entrance exam. I preferred this college as i mentioned above. Before the counseling, i was searching for the details regarding all the colleges under HPTU(HIMACHAL PRADESH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY)so i choose it.

I choose Civil Engineering because i think this field suits me better than others. I am good at measuring & numericals and i also want to take a stream containing good opportunities. But my main focus is on Gate (after b.tech). Although i wanted to be a professor so the subjects of civil Engineering are pretty interesting for me like Som, fluid mechanics, Building materials etc. The ratio in a class is about 5:4 (i.e. girls are less as compare to boys) but it differ in some cases like mechanical branch which containing most of boys. And there are basically 60 students in each branch of our college. And our college conatins mainly four branches i.e. Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics. The term exams are taken at the end of the semester. It's not easy to pass because as your the passing ratio of all the branches then there are 60% students those are all clear and the 40% students don't clear every subject in a particular semester. But if you study properly then it's easy.

At seventh semester students became eligible for campus placements. There are less companies because it's a Government college and mostly it contains the subjects related to field work. Although i am still in 3rd semester so i can't say much about it. My plans after getting the degree, is to qualify gate and get admission in big institutes like nit etc. for higher studies. After that i wanted to be a professor. So i can teach students and i wanted to be a good teacher. For that, i starts preparing for gate from previous semester to definitely crack it by achieving a top rank.

About the fee structure, there a fixed semester cost issued by the University for all the students in different branches. Let's take my example, i am a student of 3rd semester (CE), the amount of fees for me to this semester is 28,020 rupees and for girls its about 14,000. Because it's a government college which issued extra benefits for the girls( but i don't think in a state like himachal it's necessary means where the equality but forget it). And if u want to take the hostel then it takes additional 5,060 rupees for six months ( not included mess charges because it's depends upon the days you take the meal). And the point about scholarships, it's already a Government Engineering college which also allows you additional facilities like less fees. And i don't know about the job criteria because i am just in 3rd semester.

The Name of the annual fest is college fest 2k and the name of tech fest is techshilla in our college. Basically it is conducted in the middle of the semesters. It contains almost 2-3 days for every fest conducted in the college. All the of books are available in the college library. They issued us library cards so that students can take any book according to their interests for a interval of time. The library contains all types of subjects books of different authors. And the library is quite large in space so students can study there easily and peacefully (basically at the end of the semester, i often goes to the library in every free period to complete my syllabus). And honestly the library and the classroom facilities are good because we got a new director which starts the renovation work of every classroom in the lecture theater. Our college takes part in sports activities two times in a year which are held at IIT Mandi.There are also many student groups for different works.

Our batch is the first batch in hostel because this hostel in new. This is the first hostel in hptu. Our hostel contains a garden and a ground inside the boundary. It contains 8 rooms in each floor in which 6 rooms are for three students each and 2 rooms are for 2-2 students which are small in size. Every room provides 3 beds, 3 study tables, 3 lamps(1-1-1 for each three students), 3 walled almirahs. It's a new hostel, so that the infrastructure is good. The bad thing about the hostel is that the lack of Engineers those made this because i take hostel in 2nd semester ( it's available for students in 2nd semester after opening by a minister) and we often plays football in the ground in front of hostel. The the cement starts coming out of it when the ball hits it some hard. The meal quality is sufficient because it's a Government tender. Registration process for hostel takes at the time of admission. I take a rented room in 1st semester because hostel is not ready. It's cost me 3,000/m.
