Manpreet Kaur's Review On Hansraj College - [HRC], New Delhi

I had selected top tier colleges in north campus and was awardet Hansraj college as per my rank and Choice. I was allowed to take admission in Hindu College & khalsa College. However I have heard alot about the commerce department of hansraj College and the infrastructure there, I chose this college.My course choice is due to.my career choice, I want to become a teacher.

Mcom from delhi University ( Regular course) is the best in India. It is a dream for all who want to get into teaching profession however the syllabus is too old, has never been updated since long. Recently it was changed in 2019. But the curriculum is at large similar. Only the length of subject or the pairing of subjects has changed. Many minir, electives have been introduced. But the quality of teaching has been deteriorating since years.Old teachers don't make any effort while the guest lecturers have zero motivation due to unavailability of permanent job.The results of exams and evaluation is a joke in Delhi University

I didn't take the internship but many came our way from housing.com to book my pg and others like indian express content writing , sher khan for stocks and sales with stipend varying from 5k to 10k

For mcom there is no placement cell since almost 90 % of students doing mcom course desire to enter teaching job either at school or college. Rest of the batch is involved in civil services or RBI, SSC etc

The college has its annual fest in the month of March and sub fests. Department wise fests include games and quiz competitions which are related to their department. For example maths department hosts quiz , tambola n all while commerce fest is all about Marketing and stocks.The final day is the DJ night which boasts of great crowd ( security average) with any popular singer and food from all famous outlets.It almost always competes with SRCC CROSSROADS OR HINDU'S Mecca.Then their are events like internship festivals, NCC day, founders day, annual day celebrations.

At hansraj College, sports infrastructure is the best among all colleges. Sports activities are encouraged by all and students represent the country at various tournaments.Air conditioning is available and classrooms are well maintained but a serious requirement for good sanitation and washroom exists. The washrooms have issues related to water. I have been there since 2018 and nothing has changed.Library services are great, our librarian is awesome and understanding. While some staff members can be pretty rude. The admin rules are lengthy as usual like every other college. WiFi and computer facilities are not available. Its very sad that we don't have computers to di research n all. The one that are there are not working most of the time.

I am not in hostel but I know that hanraj College is the oldest college to have a boys hostel right within the campus.There are many PG's available in the nearbuy area like kamla nagar, malkaganj and jawahar nagar. Many are professionally managed as well and can range between 12k-20k depending on the facilities opted for.
