Remarks

I chose this because of convenience. I had completed my first grads in 2014. Thereafter I was working in social sector. So I needed a professional degree to law to further my interest. Siliguri being my hometown is a convenient place of college for me. Moreover no other colleges are offering 3 year LLB course here.

Course Curriculum Overview

Syllabus is fine. But the faculty keeps changing. At times there were 3 professors completing 1 course in a semester. I am currently in my 6th i.e. final semester. So basically it's a private company which is only interested in making profits.

Placement Experience

No companies visit our college. This is a law college, but I haven't come across any law firms visiting our college. So I would say there are 0 placements. Most of the past students practice here in District Courts under some Seniors who pay them poorly.

College Events

No campus life. There are lot of extracurricular activities going on but I am never interested. They sometimes call legal luminaries like Justice Ganguly for lectures and all. However these events are rare. Mostly there are moot court competitions and stuff like that.

It's a 4 storeyed building. One floor also has a library, however students are permitted only upto a defined territory. The same place also has few computers. Apart from this, there is a field adjacent to the building alongside a canteen.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Analysis of a Prosperous Path of Career objectifying its Credibility and Outcome.

I underwent CLAT-UG for my admission where the cut-off was around 125/150. The application process in recent times is very easy due to the availability of the Internet in every home. The candidate needs to search for CLAT-UG and its application process, its date of registration, materials, and examination everything will be mentioned accordingly. Further, the student also needs to be in touch with the important dates that shall be notified timely. I haven't availed any kind of reservation benefits but several benefits in the form of stipend and scholarships are there for the STs and SCs. The improvement that I would suggest is that some special scholarships must be given to the students who obtained more than 80% in Class 12 and an internship cell must be created so that students benefit from them....Read More
