Remarks
Coming to the factual data first-1). MNIT is ranked one of the top 10 NIT's on the basis of its placement, infrastructure, facilities, academics and research and its respective departments. Infact if we talk about its infrastructure and its premium location, it might as well stand no. 1 with respect to the other NITs.It is an honour itself being a part of the prestigious institution. 2). VLTC (Vivekananda Lecture Theatre Complex) Asia's largest lecture hall is there at MNIT Jaipur. We have big air conditioned classrooms which facilitates a comfortable study environment during lectures.3). MRC (Material Research Centre) has infrastructure for advanced research for various streams with focus on materials. Its facilities can also be availed to scientists and researchers of other institutions as well. The equipments at the centre were set up at the cost of $6.3 million and offer wide range of research assistance. This is good news for researchers and academic enthusiasts.4). The next best feature includes the Central Library which contains 1,33,600 volumes of books and spacious air conditioned halls for reading. The library is fully computerised. And curriculum books are also issues by students from Book Bank in the library.Personally if you are preparing for some competition or love to be around books or require a quiet place to study peacefully when semester exams are nearing then this proves to be the best place in the campus that can be.As Shelby Foote has rightly said-A university is just a group of buildings gathered around a library.
Course Curriculum Overview
Societies/Clubs in the college. There are a lot of clubs/societies also in the college such as the Music and Dance society, Drama Club, Photography Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Robotics Club etc. You are most likely to find a club of your interest and if you dont, you can always start a new club. The dance team which is really close to my heart( The derivatives of E=MC2 ) is simply amazing. I was a part of this team and they became family by the time i had to graduate. We performed at so many colleges spread across the country and even ended up winning them. If you are a dancer youve got to get into this team.Academics.I can give a better review only about the CSE branch so there are both kind of professors some who really care about the students and teaching, these pros do a really good job there. And there are some who are least bothered. The students have to learn and study basically on their own. But that is the case in most of the NITs again. The coding culture is not at par with the other NITâs. By coding culture i mean involvement in really good projects and coding competitions. The placements are pretty good almost all the students get placed in good companies. The highest packages go up to even 40lpa.Personal Experience.I had a really good time at this college made some really good memories, got out with a decent package in a good company. And also made amazing friends which according to me is the most important part of any college life.
Placement Experience
Every year the bar goes up.The highest package offered was above Rs. 34 lpa by ADOBE to yogesh dokwal, followed by DE-SHAW and ARCESIUM for Rs. 30lpa, selecting 3 students each.Next comes Amazon and Salesforce with a package of Rs. 25lpa and selecting 2 students each. These figures are CTC that includes the stocks split over 3 years. When you compare the actual in hand amount that a student would get per year, it's nearly same for all the above four companies with a difference of not more than Rs. 50k and with highest base package offered was by DE-SHAW followed by ARCESIUM.These were the bar raisers for 2016–17 batch, now talking about the average package, the average package is 12.95lpa.Many students also bagged PPO's form the big name such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Salesforce, Arista Networks, wooqer.Few visiting companies that are worth mentioning are Endurance, Smartprix, Fidelity, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Samsung.
College Events
All in all life at MNIT is comfortable, convenient and disciplined. There is a much room and stance for personal development in whatever field you wish for. For an optimistic person youd love this college if you are here to learn, grow and have some fun during the college life. For the pessimist few you ll hate the food, you ll hate the crowd, you ll hate the campus and end up hating yourself in the end. We have some really good societies both technical and cultural ones and they conduct their respective fests along with other activities the whole year round and you can always keep yourself busy with such extra curriculars and work on your strengths alongside eliminating your weaknesses and these four years will turn out to be the best four years of your lives.
Campus Life
So I recently graduated from NIT Jaipur with a B.tech degree in EE. From my experience I would say life is pretty awesome. But it also depends on the kind of attitude you have and the kind of friends you make. Throughout the 4 years I have seen a lot of changes for the good at MNIT. Infrastructure. Asias largest lecture hall was inaugurated in the campus last year only called VLTC by the students there (VLTC - Vivekananda Lecture Theatre Complex). Most of the classes now take place here. It is actually pretty huge. First time anyone gets a look at it definitely leaves them stunned. They also got a new Computer Center (CC) there which has 24/7 open computer labs there students can go there anytime and it has fully centralized AC with awesome internet speed. As far as the hostel is concerned they are horrible but so is the case in most of the NITs my friends are in and also the mess food is not all lovely but you eventually learn to manage and deal with it. PS its all veg you only get egg on a few days. There are totally 9 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel and a new girls hostel has come up. There is no curfew for boys except for the first month in first year which is of 9pm. But after that the boys don't have a curfew problem. For the girls there is an IN time of 10pm. They are strict about it but it can be avoided sometimes. Surroundings. Around Jaipur, I find it a pretty good city to live in especially with a lot of cafes and restaurants that have come up there almost everything is accessible from the college. There is a mall the students call it WTP which is pretty close to the college, students even go there walking many times. It has a Theatre and a decent food court. There are also a lot of new restaurants recently opened up right outside the college gate. Also the Airport is just 15 minutes away from the college and the nearest station is also about 10 minutes away, however the main station is about 45 minutes away from the campus. The people there are pretty friendly there is a mix culture of lot of people from different places north, south even from different countries basically everywhere.
