Remarks
It is the best private college in Kolkata and has been ranked the 2nd best college in the Western Indian Region. Also, after talking to the passed out students back in 2011, the placement percentage was around 80% which has gone above 95% is the last few years after I passed out. The likes of Amazon, Microsoft and service companies like Tech mahindra, Wipro, IBM, CTS, TCS, Capgemini, SAP, etc have been amongst the organizations which come regularly to hire freshers
Course Curriculum Overview
Back in 2011 when I joined, IEM was already the best private college in kolkata with a wide range of courses being offered. Over time, in the last few years after I passed out, it has gone over to become an autonomous university in itself. Now, changed to UEM, it is an established university in itself offering courses varying from engineering practice to law practice. This college has always been a trend setter and a leader in producing some very bright students who have becomes way successful in theri careers. One could not have a better faculty than this college. Starting from library to the HOD and principal, they would go over and beyond their scope to help the students out and help them achieve their goals. They are like grown up, experienced friends to the students who come up with their experiences to help the students out. And it's not just academics, but other curriculum activities also like technology festival, sports tournaments, inter college festivals, etc which are also there toencourage the students to go out and perform and excel in any of the field they want.
Placement Experience
I have already mentioned companies the likes of SAP, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, CTS, IBM come for BCA while for engineering students, giants like Amazon and Microsoft have visited our campus for placement opportunities
College Events
As I already mentioned, the "other-than-studies" Life here in IEM is also commendable. The faculties have always encouraged the students to perform in fields other than just studies. We have cultural festival, technical fest (where gaming competition are held which included game like Need for Speed, FIFA, Counter Strike in 2011 and games like COD Mobile, PUBG, etc for the present generation). There were sports tournaments where we would have games like cricket, basketball, football, etc. It is just a wrong notion that you cannot enjoy when you are in college. IEM is all about all round development. Period.
Campus Life
There were already 3 campuses back in 2011 which has gone upto 4 campuses in kolkata itself in the last few years. And also there is another campus in Rajasthan which is the university campus itslef. Everything is upto date right from the required books for a course to the latest softwares required to learn
