Remarks

As after listening so many praises from the seniors out there and researching about Shivaji College, i finally took admission in it after 2 days. The factors that attracted me were:-1. The thing that after whose name the college was established, none other than Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Hindu Maratha Warrior, i am very much fascinated after knowing the history of Hindu Kings.2. The College Library, it is absolutely AMAZING, you can get every and any book out there in that bulky big library.3. The Environment, when i entered the college i had some a very different feeling after seeing the environment of it, honestly, at that time only i decided to took admission in SHIVAJI COLLEGE over many others.4. The NIRF rankings and NAAC ratings, were also attractive.5. As i am a sports loving person, i was also attracted to the huge huge sports ground of this college, with every sport facility available.6. The college canteen and stalls are also good, but as i am not a much foodie, i did not considet them a part for my attraction.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The Course Content is very much exhaustive on the theoretical part but lacks the favor of students on the practical part. But as it is according to the Delhi University prescriptions, the college cannot do anything for it. The academics at the college are very satisfying, and also the societies play a good part in academics and arranging industrial exposure for students. Most of the faculty members are very good, they are punctual for their lectures, friendly and supportive. I like Chhavi ma'am & Irrfan Sir the most.

Internships Opportunities

Houseitt, Brand Manager, no stipend only certificate, apply on the form released by the company and also on the placement cell portal and wait for the interview call (if it is there) & the results are announced in a week or so.

Placement Experience

3

As told by my friend in the placement cell, last year Google and Amazon visited our college but picked only 2-3 students at a very nominal package and at a lower profile. Now come to my opinion, i think the college is now in developing phase for creating a brand name like some other DU colleges so for it the placement cell, alumni relations cell and entrepreneurship development cell are working very hard. As the latter two cells are formed only 3 years back, they are striving very hard to make it happen. They are working for good alumni networking for better job opportunities and the EDC is organising many events and workshops for the young talents to become young entrepreneurs. But till now no such positive outcome has occurred.

College Events

4.5

The fests here are amazing, i agree they can not match the north campus but i think are best in any off campus college. The events of the socities are fun and knowledgeable at the same time. The campus life is amazing, we can see many new things every day. The only shortfall is that Shivaji College doesn't allow participation from other colleges in many events.

Campus Life

5

The campus may seem a bit old to some modern geeks, but in my opinion it is very classy and i like it as it is. Although all the infrastructure are of modern era, all the classes have smart boards and the campus is Wi-Fi enabled, & you maybe amazed to see the machine facilities in the library by which you can search for the availability of a book in the library on a computer screen, issue and return book also by using a machine. Here comes the sports facilities, the college ground is i think the biggest in whole DU, it have facilities like equipments for some sports also but in cricket you have to bring your own material and kit, as i am cricket fan, i am most concerned with cricket.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
