Remarks
The location of the college is excellent. It is located in the IT Hub of Kolkata, Sector -5 Salt Lake. Public Transport is easily available out the campus. There are many fests organised by the student body. Out of them the most famous are Anakhronos (Cultural Fest) and EDGE (Technical fest). Edge is the largest Technical Fest in Kolkata.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is followed as per the norms set by the affiliated university. The curriculum what I feel is outdated. As we are stepping into a new era of Digital Technologies, the curriculum should also be revised. The faculty members are not that good. There was very little industry exposure throughout my college life, and at the end of college life what I feel is the curriculum was partially useful as there was very little application of practical knowledge throughout the tenure of my study.
Placement Experience
The Placement for the batch of 2018 was approximately 50%. There are many reputed organisation who visit the Techno India Salt Lake campus such as Accolite, Microsoft, Delloite, TCS, Mindtree, Persistent Systems, CGI etc. The best packages offered were by Accolite and Microsoft which was around 10 l. p. a. Deloiite is among the Big Four companies who visits the campus every year. The placements starts around July every year. Many placements are conducted as Pool Campus for all the colleges under the Techno India group. This lets to a bit of chaos during the placements. There is a placement cell in the college campus as well.
College Events
The College Campus is currently undergoing through a lot of construction work as the Techno India college and Techno India University are getting seperate into different buildings. The college has both AC and Non AC classrooms. However majority of the classes are Non AC, hopefully within a year all the classrooms will have ACs. The library of the college is well stocked with books, and books are provided to students from the library itself for the semesters. The labs are good and well-equipped. The campus has free Wi-Fi as well. The campus is clean and well maintained. The campus has a very nice cafeteria which provides quality food at a reasonable price.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is still developing. There are two college buildings. The campus is very small with almost no place for playgrounds. Labs are well-equipped but equipments are not up to date, as in electronics lab most equipments doesn't function properly. Wi-Fi just offers 34 mb per day. Library is very small. Only cricket and football competition s are organized in fests. There is no hostel. Not all rooms are equipped with AC's. New lift is installed. For mechanical engineering, the workshop doesn't have cnc machine.
