Remarks

Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies is considered to be one of the top colleges in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for BBA. It is ranked as 2nd in GGSIPU. It has good infrastructure and faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am a second-year student so I have not gone for placements yet. But considering what I have heard from seniors I can say that placements in Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management is quite average for BBA students. Statistically 60-70% of students opts and are selected from On-Campus Placements. Most of students prefer to opt MBA or manage family business or own start-up. The top 4 recruiting companies are IBM, Deloitte, Wipro & Concentrix with minimum package of around 4L-5L. Internship is mandatory in BBA, according to data around 50% students take help from college to get internships. But according to personal experience college does not help with internships like other GGSIPU colleges. So, in a nutshell if I have to mark recruitment cell of MAIMS is average and is trying to improve day by day. Faculty is really good. 8/10 if you ask me. All teachers are really knowledgeable and intelligent. But some teachers can give you a really hard time. That's why I have deducted two points. All teachers are friendly in nature and would love to help you whenever you want.

College Events

4

There has been a recent fee hike in college fees during COVID-19 crisis which is not welcomed by majority of students which we students find insensitive at the part of college. Fests are not that great. Chhayankan'20 and Commpact society fest were nice fests. It is said that annual fest of the college is quite good but I am not able to witness it because it got cancelled this year due to COVID 19. Each and every festival is celebrated cheerfully by the college. Another problem is connectivity. One has to take e-rickshaw and auto from Rithala metro station. The distance between Rithala and college is approx 6 km which takes a lot of time. There is no good hangout place near college. One has to go either to Unity mall at Rohini West or Adventure Island.

Campus Life

4.5

Infrastructure of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies is considered to be one of the best in GGSIPU.1.The campus area is built in approx. 10 acres of land. The campus consists of two campuses one for Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies and other of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology. There are 9 blocks in the college and 10th one is under construction. Currently, MAIMS have two buildings and rest are assigned to MAIT.The college also offers a big spacious auditorium with good air conditioners where major seminars, fests, guest lectures and other events take place. There is famous hangout spot in this college that is stands. You can find students hanging there at any point of time. 2.There are four canteens in the college. The food that is offered in main canteen is quite average. But in rest of canteens the food is quite awesome especially the momos. A new kiosk of Nescafe has been opened in the campus almost a year or two ago, which offers quite good eatables. If one do not wish to choose from above options, you can explore off-campus options. There are three famous spots outside the campus. First is maagi wali aunty, second is chole kulche and third is rajma chawal wale uncle. There are more spots for eating food but I personally prefer these three spots.3. Labs, library and classrooms are in good condition. All of them have air conditioners, but sometime they do not work. The college offers a big ground. Adding to this college also offers a very good basketball court and if you are badminton fan then there is a good news because a new court has been constructed for you guys.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
