Remarks
Quality. The professors are extremely good at what they do. It breaks the stereotypes of how a class should be conducted. Besides that you can be any major and can opt courses of others as well as electives. It promotes multidisciplinary. Safe space for your voice to be heard. You will generally not see a flock mentality. people are respected for their opinions even in disagreements. Moreover the class strength with respect to other colleges it's less. Ranges from 35 to 45 per discipline. Learning here didn't limit to class rooms but beyond. You will get scholarship you do well in your semester. Besides all this you can earn through various ways that college supports for example earn while you learn scheme encourages students to take part in whatever the university administration need according to the need of the hour and you'll be paid for that. Moreover there is something called the student welfare fund for which ANY STUDENT can apply you need not be under any category of lower income group. You just need to be aware of what's happening.
Course Curriculum Overview
We were given a buffer period of one week to choose the courses we want apart from the compulsory. And during the orientation we were provided with course structure and what all we would be studying. During the one week period we could attend the class of our interest and then decide if we wish to finalise this for the rest of the sem or not. Faculty in Ambedkar is good. They are open to suggestion and flexible. It's hard to choose one professor. Benil sir, Santosh sir, suchitra mam, Bidhan sir, niharika maam. The list is long.
Placement Experience
There is a placement cell. Which was not always active. I'm not aware of placement and how it functions in my university now. For more detailed updates you can check the website www.aud.ac.in. The university also offers MBA so maybe there it might be active. I did my undergradution. At this level don't expect having a strong and secure placement after UG. None in my knowledge have being place at UG level. If there are then I'm unaware.
College Events
Campus makes you feel home. Though you'll crib about it being small to other colleges. Gradually you'll start loving the college spots. It's small hence it very special. We never call any activity "extra". there is a reason why it is called co-curricular. We CCA and not ECA. My university gives importance to performances and events as equal to any other. So it's always special when the campus has posters stuck around and is decorated. However it not "Big" in the sense other colleges have it. It indeed smaller yet better. The societies in university are not advanced and famous as it's in Du as it has only in recent years completed its 10 years. So it's an upcoming university.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you score well your name will be on the list and you just have to provide your account details that's it. Your scholarship will be transferred to your account. The amount also depends according to the score. And then if you continue to do well. You don't have to worry about the scholarship. It will be transferred automatically to your account semester wise without you have to do anything. Also the scholarship comes late by a sem or sometime even a year. For eg 4th sem student might get her 2nd sem scholarship.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is one major issue that has been a long fight since the beginning. It's very small campus. Hence small library etc. No auditorium. We have been having annual sports day for few years but other than that seperate tournaments of football basketball and volleyball also happens. Indoor are not active. Only table tennis is. That too if you get your own ball. Don't expect quality sports equipments from the campus. There are none. Library is a descent size. There is a computer lab in two floors.
