This college is one of the very few most reputed degree colleges of the state, with NAAC 'A' accreditation, under Calcutta University. There's ample scope for a CS graduate in today's world. I chose this college because Computer Science is my favourite.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good, the Syllabus is good. The faculties are good, but some don't teach nicely. Good professors are also there. I myself got 2-3 such classes where I was the only one student and others all were bunking. But those teachers still taught me and did not cancel the class, so exceptions also exist here. You cannot rely just on college, you will HAVE to take extra private tuitions from reputed CU professors (need not be your college professor only) to be able to perform better. Many pass course classes are not at all conducted, and even at times pass course classes may collide with hons. class and you will have to choose any one class, and college may not help you. These are some drawbacks here.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are moderately available, but not very good. If you are a good academic student, you can get job. Try not to drop a year, and always score as huge percentage in cu exam as possible for better scopes.
College Events
Many extracurricular events keep happening in college. There is a plethora of cultural and extracurricular activities that keep on happening in our college and all those are mostly organized by the students' union. Many helpdesks are kept throughout the campus whenever there is any event, all of which will help you with the details of the event or register you, if you want.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are there, but for those students facing financial difficulties, many concessions are there in fees for them.
Campus Life
Lab, library, wifi, sports events all facilities are there in our college and are also good. Our college has a total of three campuses in Hazra, Bhawanipur. One is the main building, the other is the Annex building, and finally a brand new centenary building dedicated for the PG studies, equipped with modern amenities. There are a total of 3 libraries in our college, with good collections. One is a digital library located in the centenary building and is dedicated for both PG and UG students of the college. It is a computer lab where students can access online ebooks in computer and read them. No other usage of computer is permitted there. The others are the Departmental library located in your department and the Central library located in the main building. From both the places you can issue books for reading. Labs are good too.
