Remarks
Bethune is one of the best colleges in West Bengal. The teaching is immaculate. It really gives you a sense of freedom and power, while helping you grow in your own way. I have to put in a word for my department. I do not believe that the professors in the English department could be replaced by anyone else.
Course Curriculum Overview
Calcutta University has a pretty outdated curriculum in the first place. So, Bethune has nothing to do with the curriculum. However, the faculties provided to us were adequate. They were not top class, but they could do. The department tried the best that they could with the resources that was allocated to them.
Placement Experience
TCS and Cognizant come to our college every year at the end of the academic session. They scout graduating students who are interested to join into the work force. One of my friends was scouted by Cognizant as a content writer.
College Events
The only inter college event that we had was our fest which was called Aalap. It was modestly popular but we can not brag about large crowds in our fest. The other activities were intra college. Bethune day, sports, Independence day, republic day were celebrated.
Campus Life
Bethune had a good library. We did not have Wifi. The only wifi that the college had was perhaps in the administrative building and the students were not supossed to use it. Sports room remained closed very often. I am not very sure about the equipment in the labs.
