To sum it all up iam delighted that I opted for this college. I got placement in one of the best companies because if this college placement cell. This college has a great infrastructure and all the necessary aids for the successful completion of my course. The management is very helpful. The faculty altogether is really good and upto the standards when it comes to knowledge and experience.The only area where my college needs an improvement is in the staff during the first year of our college as a lot of newly graduated students are appointed as tea hers which are not able to take the pressure. Rest everything is very pleasing and enough for a cadet to grow up.

MET-2012(MANET ENTRANCE EXAM). I scored second place in this particular examination in my district jaipur. I opted for this college because I wanted to do something different unlike normal engineering colleges. MANET Marine engineering provides me with both engineering as well as a different field which no one else ever tries to opt nowadays. MANET is one of the best marine engineering colleges in India approach ved by DG SHIPPING OF INDIA. It is situated in MIT CAMPUS RAJBAUG. This campus is situated in the bank of the one and only river of Pune mulla mutha. The c. Apps has its own Dam and the campus has a breathtaking natural beauty. Campus environment is very green and fertile. This college has the first SHIP IN CAMPUS built in INDIA. I researched about this college on Internet and found it the best for me. Also it is situated in a beautiful city PUNE which has a very pleasant environment.

I am a 4th year student. I am doing V61 course given by YCMOU University. This course includes 8 semesters. During the first one year (2 semesters) we are given basic knowledge of engineering and after that two years (4 semesters) we are provided with the theoretical knowledge of this marine engineering field. Also two practicals are conducted every semester for practical knowledge of the cadets. The 4th year (2 semesters) is full of 12 practicals in SHIP IN CAMPUS. and only 4 theory subjects. The main motive behind providing theoretical subjects first and having the practicals in the last year is that the cadets can have all the knowledge during the first three years and when they enter 4th year they should have all the theoretical knowledge about the course and then they can work practically in SHIP IN CAMPUS with their own hands on the different machinery.

Here in our college for our btech marine engineering we don't require an internship for our degree. As when we pass out we are designated as TME(trainee marine engineer). So our training is given by the placement companies when they recruit as after the completion of our course. The duration for which we are employed in the companies as TME that period is considered as our training only. We are not designated as engineers u til we Complete our 6 months as a TME on board ship.

A lot of companies come to our college starting right form the 3rd year only. As we are in our 7th semester only a no of companies have come to our college last year only. Details are given below:-1) WILHEMSEN SHIPPING MANAGEMNT - $600USD PER MONTH2) MITSUI O. S. K. LINES-$700USD PER MONTH3) V SHIPS - $600USD PER MONTH4) B W MARITIME PVT LTD - $800USD PER MONTH5) ELITE SHIPPING MANAGEMNT - $500USD PER MONTH there are still many more to come in the next semester also. The college provides 100% PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE for the cadets who clear their semester exams and also after successful completion of the course. I am right now studying in my 7th semester and i am placed this semester only in one of the best merchant company of the world named B W MARITIME PVT LTD SINGAPORE.

Well just like every other college we have numerous events celebrated in our college during our semester. Some of them are listed below with details:-CULTURAL1)MANIFEST- This fest is organised every year by the senior cadets for the freshers so that they get to know each other. This function includes dance program, plays, stand up comedy, singing, fashion show etc. It's like our annual function of college held in February every year. 2) GANESH CHATURTHI - This is one the auspicious festival celebrated in our college as our college is in Maharashtra and here ganesh chaturthi is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. During the festival a lot of games are organised like tug and war, box cricket etc. Also djnight is also done at the end of the festival. 3) DURGAPOOJA- This festival is also celebrated in our college during the 9 days of navratra. Pooja happens each morning and evening. A couple of games are organised for the cadets and also dandiya night is also there. 4) TEACHERS DAY- This day is celebrated with joy and happiness just like any other days in our college. All cadets organise various programs for the teachers and make various gifts for them. TECHNICAL 1) GLOBAL SHIPPING SEMINAR- This is technical seminar help every year during March month. A lot of delegates from various shipping companies attends this seminar. A no of experienced and educated Chief engineers and Captain give lectures and presentation about the latest merchant environment and the latest advancement in our field. Various cadets for different colleges also attend this seminar. SPORTS 1) NATIONAL INTER MARITIME SPORTS MEET - This sport meet held ever year in our college where different marine colleges from all over India comes to compete. It is a national competition and our cadets are exposed to national exposure and they can show their talent in various field of the competition like swimming, cricket, basketball, Rowing, boxing, volleyball etc. 2)SUMMIT - This is also one of the recognized sports event organised by our MIT Campus for all the engineering college all over INDIA. Students from different colleges take part in this under various events like basketball, cricket, volleyball, boxing, Rowing,etc. THERE ARE OTHER EVENTS HELD IN OUT COLLEGE1) REPUBLIC DAY AND INDEPENDENCE DAY. - These days are also celebrated in our college with lot of enthusiasm. Chief guest arrives and hoist the National flag. Guard of honor gives him a Salute and parade is also held for the chief guest. Dance and singing events are held during this celebration.

The fee structure is reasonable if you compare it with other private colleges which are providing with the B TECH MARINE engineering degree. Because it's a private college and also a residential course the fee is a Lil higher. Fee for each semester is around 1,14,000 Ruppees. Which come about 10 lakh approx for the whole 4 year btech course. To talk more in detail :The fee is divided into various parts 20,000 for our tuition fees91,000 for our hostel and mess facilities 3,000 for laundry .Adding to this the University fees which we have to pay every year for the registration of the year to YCMOU is about 19,000 per year.

The college provides a lot of scholarships in various fields. Some of them are listed below:-1) Students who scored more than 90% in their 12th board examination they are given a scholarship of about 20,000 every semester provided their aggregate doesn't go down 70% in the semester. 2) Girl cadets are given 50% discount in their fees provided they do not fail in any of the semester exams. 3) Scholarships of worth 40,000 is provided to various national level players who have nation level certificates and who represents our college in national level tournament. 4) All the 5 toppers of every batch are provided with a school of 10,000 every year according to their academic percentage. College provided help to get a loan from the bank. As our college is a private one the fees is a lil higher so everybody tries to study on loan only. Accepting this the college helps in any way they can so that the students gets the loan and can study in the college. I have also availed an education loan worth 10 lakh form SBI. The college provided me with every document and help i needed for the loan purpose.

The campus life in our campus is very pleasant. In our campus we have 4 colleges (MIT ID, MIT ISBJ, MIT FT, MANET) and one international SCHOOL( MIT GURUKUL). Our campus has a ratio of 2:1 in gender. 2 of male and 1 of female. Students from all around the country takes admission in our college. Majority of them are from Bihar, Maharashtra, North India. But their is no discrimination among us. As because of our course structure all students needs each other help every now and then so people starts knowing each other well and their is no place for hatred or racial discrimination whatsoever. Our campus celebrates all kinds of festivals and every students takes part in those festivals all the time,no matter what religion they follow when it comes to celebration everyone dances and enjoy with happiness. Their are no political issues in our campus. We don't have president or vice president for student committee in our colleges so there are no political imbalance or issues whatsoever. Ragging is treated as a punishable offence and is taken very seriously in our campus. The students who are caught or filed complained against are dealt severely and are restricated from the college and campus. In our Campus all colleges come together and celebrate every festival and national al holiday as a family. There is no discrimination between anyone.

To be honest the best thing about our college is its hostel building. I know no one will believe me but when it comes to our college the hostel building is bigger and more fancier than our academic building. The hostel is designed with such a great precision and open mind that fresh air is always there in every room and naturally ventilated each room without any external source. The fish breeze roam around all our hostel rooms and corridors. The architecture is so good that the fresh breeze can be felt no matter where you are in the hostel building. But it does come to a disadvantage during rainy seasons as due to a lot of openings for the free breeze to come in the rain water also comes in and a flooding situation is developed. But it doesn't last for long as proper drains are provided and the cleaning staff cleans each room and corridors every morning without fail so it's all good. To talk about the mess food well if I have to describe it in one sentence than it would be that the food of our mess is good. It's not that bad not that great. It's reasonable and can fill up every stomach. Though during certain days of the week the menu is a Lil bad as there is not a dish which we can eat but rest of the days the menu is nice and the quality of food is also good.

Alumni network is very good in our college. The college organise alumni meetings every year so that the passed our cadets who have already sailed on board ship can come to our college and interact with the cadets. It is very useful in our field because cadets in college are unaware of the environment on board ship so it becomes very helpful if one of our alumni cadets tells us about their experiences on board ship and how it is in real and how is the life on board which helps the cdets to be more clear about their future and if they want to continue in this field or not. The college has also provided a fb page for our alumni so that cadets from college can be in direct contact with the alumni students and can gain extra experience and knowledge from them apart from the knowledge they are receiving in the college years.

Our exams are held at the end of every semester. We are given 15 days of preparatory leave before the exams for the preparations. So we have ample of time to study for the exams. Exams are held with a gap of one holiday between each exam. And after our theory papers few days gap is given for the practical and according to the roll numbers practical are held for the respective subjects. The exam time table is very pleasant as we are able to prepare all our subjects during the 15 days preparation leave only and during the gap between the exam we can revise and give the ex a the next day. Practical are also very smooth without any hectic schedule. All together it's a good exam structure in my opinion.

Like i already described in detail about our course curriculum. The faculty is also divided according to that course curriculum only. During the first two semesters B TECH And M TECH Degree professors teach us. And in the later 4 semesters for our marine engineering subjects a no . of chief engineers witha lot of sea service and experience teach us and provide us with the knowledge of the marine field. Last but not the least during our 4th year all the faculty of our ship in campus are ex India navy and some of them are from merchant navy. They are very well educated and knowledgeable when it comes to the SHIP IN CAMPUS practical knowledge. Though all our faculties are well and good but during the first year where we are provided with the basic engineering knowledge not all the professors are b TECH and m tech degree holders. Sometimes it may happen that a recently graduated student comes to teach us. The first years teachers keep on changing due to lack of teaching experience. But altogether they are well and good when we look at all the 4 years faculty.
