Remarks

One of the best college in Asia for Marine Engineering. This is the oldest college in India for Marine Engineering established in 1949. The workshop is still incomparable to many same course colleges in INDIA.

Course Curriculum Overview

The Course Curriculum is well balanced for steady and effective learning with the best training provided for staying onboard, shaping the best marine engineers. Scholarship up to 1 lakh are provided on each semester result to the best 60 cadets. The faculties are also well experienced.

Placement Experience

If you are all cleared with no supplementary in any paper, there is a high chance of placement. placement starts in 4th semester and runs till 8th semester.

College Events

The main fest is organised every year by the 3rd year students of our college, and it is named as Tempest. Literature festival named Lit-Sphere is also organised. Videos of these fests are available on YouTube.

Fees and Financial Aid

loans are easily available, at admission time you will find counter of banks in college giving you full information of college.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of the college hostel and academic building are awesome with free wifi covered campus. The size of the library is huge with almost 20000 books present there. The best thing is the ship engine in worshop.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is also equipped with Wi-Fi facility, and the food served in the mess is also fine. 5 to 6 cadets can stay in a large hall sized room with bed and wardrobe also present there.In the college fee your hostel charges and mess charges are included so no extra pay after that.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

GOOD PLACEMENT RECORD

Admission:

I got 1150 out of 1200 in my 12th grade. 199 out of my cut off mark 200 for merit.Application for Engineering and Medical Counseling. Selected in both. But I prefer M.B.B.S than aeronautical engineering. I went to counseling in Chennai and then chose Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital in Tamil Nadu.

Pros and cons of IMU Chennai

Actually I wanted to go to ts chanakya navu Mumbai campus it's better than imu chennai for bsc but that time I didn't know how to apply for counselling and I put imu chennai over ts chanakya on my preference list so I got imu chennai.I gave the exam in 2023 that time my rank was 1431 ews category so I would've easily got ts chanakya in first list but I thought chennai is the head quarters so it must be better.For being eligible for imu colleges you must have a score of 60% avg in pcm in 12th and. 70% in English in 10th and 12th .You must clear IMU-CET exam and after that apply for counseling process . After that if you are medically fit just go to the college verify your passport and other documents and there you go....!!!...Read More
