1.It is one of the best medical colleges in eastern India. 2.Located in the heart of Kolkata it provides a lot of facilities. 3.The college has a ranking of 11 among India's best colleges 2017 in the survey of India today. 4.Has one of the most experienced faculties. 5.One of the oldest medical college in India.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course syllabus of M.B.B.S is according to the guidelines provided by MCI. The college is under The West Bengal University of Health Sciences. Exams are taken for each semester by the college and year end exam by the university. Faculties are well experienced and provides all support you need.

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Placement Experience

After completion of 4.5 years. One year of internship is complusory which is included in the course. Afterwhile you can opt for serving in campus or any where all over West Bengal. You need no companies or placement offers. Being a doctor is the most desired proffesion in the society. You can serve the people wherever you want.

College Events

Several cultural activities take place in a year. Freshers, Reunion, College Fest all comprises of several cultural programmes with unlimited enjoyment. Students from all the years participate in the programmes.

Campus Life

Sports tournaments are held every year like cricket, football, table tennis. The library is a well big spaced with AC and separate sections for UG and PG. The large auditorium is worth boasting. Different departments have their own lecture theatres and laboratories.

Hostel Facilities

There are four hostels in our college for UG students. Those who are from distant places applying for hostels are given place in these hostels. Hostels are great place for enjoying life. You will get all helps from seniors and batchmates staying in here.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

So I got admission in Rgkmch based on my AIR of 8107 in AIQ in open seat quota in 2023. I had placed RGKMCH in my preference list as it is one of the oldest medical institutions of India. It is located in a prime location in Kolkata. It has a good alumni network. Rg kar medical college hostel, education and college life review

You have to clear NEET UG cut off for our college which varies according to your category . Cut off is high as our college is third most sought college in WB. R.G.kar Medical college, The home for the Best Future Doctors.

You need to qualify for the NEET UG exam. With an Air of around Rs 10000-13000 to get into this college. All details of admission are available on the MCI and WBMCC websites.
