Urja Parmar's Review On Amrapali University, Haldwani

My father got transferred to Rudrapur (1 hour away from Haldwani) so I had to choose a college somewhere near. Amrapali is the best known college in Haldwani. After searching online we found this college, we scheduled a visit to the college. After visiting, we got convinced that this is a decent college to get admission in. The best thing about the college was that it ranked 9th in India's top private colleges for Hotel Management.

Industrial exposure was provided. Faculties are fine, some are great, 1-2 are just not eligible to teach in a college. The college should hire more qualified faculties. The course curriculum is somewhat similar to other colleges, however, they need to add courses that provide practical knowledge to make students industry-ready. College should add courses related to soft skills as they are equally important for a student.

MBAtrek (Work from Home), 1 Month, HR Intern, Rs 1000+ incentives. The college approached the students with the internship offer from the company. The first round was a written assessment, the next round was a zoom interview.

A number of companies visit our college. HM students have the best placement as the companies that come to hire them are all 5 star hotels & restaurants. After the HM students the technical students who pursue BTech & BCA have the best placement. Because for them companies like Delloitte, Accenture come. But for management students sadly no big companies come.

The one thing about the college which is good is the number of events it organizes. There are annual cultural event (Spandan), annual 3- day sports event (Spradha), annual department wise events ( Abhyudaya, Prabandhan, etc), annual 2- day quiz event (K.D.M.M.), annual freshers party (Abhinandan). These events take place on a mediocre level. On an average 60-80 students participate in these events.

Yes I availed a scholarship of Rs 2500 for scoring above 75% in my 12th boards. The scholarship could even be extended if I continued to score above 75% in my semesters. So for each semester in which i score above 75% I get Rs 2500.

The infrastructure of the college is not good. There is no auditorium for indoor activities to be held, despite of having a big campus. No wifi is available in the campus. The college needs to have a department-wise library. The library is small and books are hard to find. Also the library is not well resourced. There are very few computer labs. The college lacks lifts, e-libraries, well structured classrooms.

The hostel facility of boys is fine, but that of girls is pathetic. There is no maintenance of the girls hostel. The washrooms are dirty and are with faulty flushes. The food is okay, but the way the food is prepared is not hygienic. The hostel infrastructure is not well planned. Despite of having a spacious area for the hostel, the rooms are very small with weak doors,
