Remarks

It is one of the oldest Institute in entire Asia in the field of Wireless. The research programs are very good here with numerous research papers. We even have a crater on moon named after the founder of our college, Dr. Sisir Mitra. If you are into research it's the best college so far.

Course Curriculum Overview

It is a very good University for research and academics. If you are planning for research in the future and the streams you want to opt are related to wireless, electronics or robotics this is the best University.

I did an unpaid Internship from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad as the Campus ambassador

Placement Experience

Companies like Tata Consultancy services, Capegemini, Wipro, Amazon places our students with medium to high salaries. Job profiles are mainly Software Developers.

College Events

We hold the Hult Prize the entrepreneurship event in our college which is grand with 100s of students participating in the regional to international level. Cultural fests are also organized at a large scale.

Campus Life

Rich library and full wifi campus. Superb lab equipments. The campus is a bit old but the facilities are excellent, full air conditioned classes and lab. The equipments are good and almost new with all modern technologies.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
