Remarks

One of the best in eastern india. Located in Kolkata and has proper connectivity through all routes- Metro station,Railway station, bus, etc. It is 11th among india's best colleges as ranked by India today in 2017, experienced faculties, friendly campus, well eqquiped classrooms and laboratories

Course Curriculum Overview

Syllabus is as per suggested by MCI, university exams are taken under WBUHS guidelines. Proper clinical rounds, operation theatre and OPD visits, theory and practical classes are taken. Exposure to patients helps in better learning.

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Placement Experience

Compulsory 1 yr paid internship has to be done after completion of course. After that students can go for PG preparation of do housestaffship.

College Events

RGKMCH has the largest fest among all colleges in West Bengal. It is a 4 day fest called Lobelia. Freshers event- Metamorphosis, Convocation ceremony, Saraswati Puja, 3 day celebration of Reunion takes places. Various celebrities and musical bands are called. DJ night is also there.

Campus Life

Huge Library is there with different sections for students and books on all subjects are available. Wifi is not there. Lab equipments are upto date. Cricket night matches are organized by hostel students.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are average and fees is minimal. 1 room is shared by 4 students. Mess food is ok. Mess fees has to be paid separately. Hostel application is to given in the First year itself. Total cost is around Rs 3000 monthly.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

So I got admission in Rgkmch based on my AIR of 8107 in AIQ in open seat quota in 2023. I had placed RGKMCH in my preference list as it is one of the oldest medical institutions of India. It is located in a prime location in Kolkata. It has a good alumni network. Rg kar medical college hostel, education and college life review

You have to clear NEET UG cut off for our college which varies according to your category . Cut off is high as our college is third most sought college in WB. R.G.kar Medical college, The home for the Best Future Doctors.

You need to qualify for the NEET UG exam. With an Air of around Rs 10000-13000 to get into this college. All details of admission are available on the MCI and WBMCC websites.
