College is against ragging and any complain regarding it is taken care of strictly. Environmental is really pleasant in college.

I got into HITK through WBJEE and my rank was 21,000 and biotechnolgy was the only department I was getting in HIt-K. I choosed college over department as HIT-K had a good hostel facilities and was centrally located in Kolkata.

The course curriculum is pretty well distributed over the four years. In the first year we get to learn the same subjects as the other departments and from the second year specialisation subjects come into place and in the final year more importance is given to project and research work. Students can put in their own ideas about the project and through out the four years we have humanities subjects as well as computer subject.

For internship I applied personally in Tata steel as my is an employee there. But college sends our recommendations to IAS, IITs and other major industries and companies which may or may not provide stipend but the learning experience will be good. Students who went to IAS got stipend around 15,000.

Almost 95% students are placed during the placement program. But the only problem is many IT companies visit the college and stream related companies visit very less and if they visit then it is during the end of placement season. My placement experience was good i enjoyed alot.

Almost all the festivals are celebrated in the hostel. For students who are not staying in hostel it's optional for them to attend the function. One festival which is celebrated with full enthusiasm is sarswati puja. Entire decoration and all the program is arranged by the students and they follow the ritual really well starting from Puja in the morning and evening program later. Other festivals like dusherra,holi,Diwali,independence day is celebrated with full interest and enthusiasm.

Fee structures are divided into many categories, there are four of them for CET entry its around Rs 17000 and if you are a SC,ST coming through CET its around Rs 5000. If you COMEDK then even if came here through a tough enough competetive exam you will pay like as if you are here through management seat for comedk its around Rs 1,75,000. Lastly for management seat its around Rs 2,25,000 and some 'donations'.

I dont know but Many students avail student loan from bank. Scholarship is not provide by college. But i think the loan facility should offered by colleges for the students.

Gender ratio is 1:1 in the college. Campus life is really fun and people are really helpful out there. Four canteens are there in the campus. Good parking facility is available and bank and atm is also present in college itself. Security guards are really strict and in every floor aquaguard is fitted and washroom facility is avaliable. College through the year organises various activities and fests . Eclecia is the inter college cultural fest which is famous in entire Kolkata and daksh is academic inter college fest famous throughout the college and in these fest even sports events and robotics are there. Many colleges participate in these events. Sports fest is there for intra college as in interdepartmental tournament in which girls as well boys participate to win the cup for their department. Many clubs are there in college like photography,rotoract,resonance for singers,hit dance crew,fashion team etc. People get full opportunity to be a part of these clubs. Labs are fully equipped and students get the opportunity to make full use of all the equipment and full discipline is maintained in the lab.

Hostels are really safe and fully equipped with all the facilities. 24 hours power and water supply is there. Weekly pest control is done and the hostel wardens really do their job with full interest. 3000-4700 is per month rent depending upon the choice of hostel. Mess food is not that good especially for non-Bengali student. But sometimes the food is good too.Hostel the seats are around 300 each in boys and girls Hostel therefore near college many pgs and flats are available for rent.

Seniors were supportive throughout and we have always seen seniors coming back to the college and serving them in the way they want. Even I am am pass out but I still do visit my College and spend time with teachers and juniors. Alumini meets are also organised in college and all the seniors are informed well before the meet.

As I have mentioned above there will be 8 subjects every semester including both theory and practicals. So an overall of 64 subjects need to be completed for getting the graduate certificate. The marking scheme is CGPA. Odd semesters will start from June and gets over by 3 week of October. Even semester gets started from November and by March last week it'll get over.

Faculty is really supportive of new ideas but few are a partial for particular bengalis student. They have very good knowledge and attitude towards teaching and guides for new ideas was to be honest was not great. Their were many lecturers and professors were less but the amount of experience professors bring was good.
