Remarks

I always wanted.to get into SRCC, but my score was just 2 marks short of the SRCC cut off in my admission year. Hence, I was left with 2 options, Hindu or Hansraj. Hindu has better fests and overall reputation, whereas Hansraj has better faculties and crowd because the strength of Bcom students is around 250 here, which gives diversity in the course, Hence I chose Hansraj. The admission process is very simple, I got my admission in 2nd cut off, it was announced on 30 June, I went to college submitted my original documents for verification and paid the fees online, everything was done and completed within a day and I was finally in DU.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I wanted to pursue CA along with my graduation and having commerce background, Bcom Hons was the best course suited for me. At Hansraj, there are 250+ students in every batch, for which there are around 5 teachers teaching a batch, hence the faculty: student ratio turns out to be 1:50 which is very decent in my opinion. The staff here is very supportive and teaching method is amazing. The faculty is so supportive that they guide you not only for your course, but also for other activities or professional advice. They support in your decision to pursue other courses along with Bcom as well. We used to have class tests which we called internal assessments twice or thrice every semester along with assignments and presentations. Of course there were end semester exams after every semester, which was set at moderate level- not too easy, not too tough, which made them adequately tough to pass which meant we had to study quite a lot to pass.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The placement cell also offers internships where in various companies come to offer internships including Taj, EY, Deloitte etc at an average stipend of ?5000 per month. Every student of the college can apply for internship, subject to company eligibility rules.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students are eligible for placements in their final year i.e. 5th semester onwards. A lot of companies offer placement including, deloitte, EY, JP Morgan, DE Shaw, Bain etc offering highest package of 29LPA at an average package of 5LPA. For Bcom, the placement percentage is around 20%-30% as most of the students opt for further studies either in form of CA or post graduation. Since I was pursuing CA, I got my dream articleship from my college placements in a Big 4 at a stipend of ?1,80,000 per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees is around ?18000 per annum including examination fees and all charges, which is hiked around ?500-1000 every year. For students not belonging to NCR, there is Boy's hostel which has limited seats, costs around ?40000 per semester and serves amazing food, unlike other hostels, along with all other facilities. For economically weaker students, there is a need cum scholarship programme which is held every year, the students apply for it, along with all income proof of family and an interview is held to assess the needs of the students requiring scholarship and accordingly, the students are awarded either 50% or 100% fees scholarship. This programme is held every year to provide scholarship to needy students. Placements are decent in this college, Since I was pursuing CA , I got my dream articleship in Big4 at a stipend of?15,000 per month.

Campus Life

4.5

Hansraj student union organises its annual cultural fest every year named Confluence in March every year, where there are various activities like dance, music, DJ night, star night and various educational and extracurricular competition as well. Hansraj has an amazing library with digitized system of issue and return, books are easily available and it is super easy to get it issued, just insert the book and your ID card and it is issued within seconds. Classrooms are well equipped with ACs, and projectors in every class. Sports and extracurricular activities are very good in college. There are around 25 societies which are involved in these activities which students can join and participate.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

In the room you are provided with a bed, table, chare, almirah, fan and tube fitted. You can get your own water cooler and fit it at extra cost of just ?250 per month. Me quality is excellent unlike any other hostel. The food served is amazing and the serving staff is very polite. It is very easy to register. Just fill up the form after you get admission to college. This facility is provided to a limited students because only 200 seats are there in hostel. If you rent a PG outside, it will cost almost double the hostel cost at around 1,50,000 per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
