Karan's Review On IITT College Of Engineering, Sirmaur

I came through AIEEE test and because i scored a low rank so i opt this college as it was near to my home town.

Course structure was same as of other colleges but the faculty was not upto the expectations as we have to prepare for the exams on personal basis. But some teachers were very good i think faculty standard should have been better as another college of the same chairman was in IIT rourkee.

No the college didnot provide any internship or stipend. But after our 3 rd year of B.Tech some of the companies like LT&T ,r com came for the placement and students get placed.

After 3rd year the college set up a placement function in which 5 or 6 companies came and took tests and selected students go for face to face interview in which almost half the students got selected for the jobs. Companies were LT&T,rcom,genpact etc.

College fests were use to held at the end of year and they were well organised and disciplined as we were in discipline commitee. Also placement function were also very well organised. College fests were fun as we use to participate in 2 or 3 events.

The fee structure was good and it cost around 60000 for both semesters in a year. So it was affordable.

No there was nothing like loan facility but attendence fine was reduced and relaxed for those who use to participate in cultural programs and sports events.

Gender ratio was not balanced as there were less girls than boys,sports events were also organised on personal basis and we use to organise football and cricket tournament in college and all streams have different teams according to each other. No debates or GD took place at the time when i was in college.

But we use to live outside on a rent flat because the hostel was not good enough and the food was also not satisfied so we rented and flat and use to make food by ourselves.

Seniors were very rude in first semester and use to annoy us by indulging us into various activities but after 1 st semester it all changed and seniors become very helpful and great friends. Some senior were very supportive and help us in making notes and gave us books to study and also help us during exams.

Exam structure was very tough and practical vivas used to take place after the final exams and labs were extremely fun we use to enjoy alot in the practical labs but some of them were very serious. Atlast labs were so much of learning as well as fun. We use to do practicals but not so seriously.
