Remarks

For its faculty in botany, For its infrastructure in the course, For its friendly environment. Botany was always my favourite subject. I wanted to opt for an institution which served my purposes of studying botany. this institution serves it fantastically with its large source of books, materials, practical practice classes, garden consisting of type plants and ornamentals and ofcourse, remarkable professors.

Course Curriculum Overview

My course syllabus was updated five years ago. still it was of great use. Yes. We went into many seminars, exhibitions conducting some of them, and many other exposures. Faculties are fabulous. They are, 1) HOD Dr. Mithun Maji 2) Subhashis Saha 3) Krishna Chowdhury 4) Rupa Chakraborty 5) Dr. Joy Sarkar

Placement Experience

Since it's a Hons. Study based college.so from there we can go to further studies, MSc and PhD for instance. Many go to research territory also.

College Events

Cultural activities prevails there. saraswati puja is one of them. campus life is awesome. We participate, conduct picnics, and other activities there. We also conduct exhibitions, webinars and others on behalf of the department and college. we launched our department t-shirt recently.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

THERE ARE FAR BETTER OPTIONS

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
