Srishti's Review On Gargi College - [GC], New Delhi

Delhi University Brand, Elite Institute, Best Infrastructure, Valuable Eca's, Supportive Teachers and All Round Development Environment. Gargi has Given me more than bookish knowledge, provided me growth in multiple facets, challenged me each single day and brought the best in me. I am a proud and happy Gargian!

Gargi College delivers best knowledge in terms of curriculum. Only thing being a DU college the course (bcom hons) was lil outdated. Though time and again practical lectures and lab work tried to break the monotony. Also in CBCS we were given optional subjects apart from core that we could choose for the descipline we wish to. Like I studied Collective Bargaining- the art of negotiation skills in my 2nd year along with core taxes, costing and accounting. That could be conclusive that DU is slowly progressing to better and updated learning exposure. Also, we had industrial visit to Coco Cola factory to gain into insights of working and accounting of a manufacturing unit. All these things add to making your journey with Gargi knowledgeable. I would always remember Payal Jain Mam, Roshni Garg, Saumya Shree Gupta, Siddarth Rathore ( the pink professor) as those few who always taught the concept outside the books.

I interned with Manocha & Company - a CA firm to align with my higher studies process. Stipend wasn't much 5000/month. I interned in summer break for 2 months. Got selected with it through PI round. Many websites are there to get internships alongwith references.

Placement cell is pro active and approch high reputation companies. During my time big 4, TCS, Startups like trippoto, etc visited. Profile varied according to company. Big 4 generally come for Taxation, Assurance, Accounting, Risk Anlayst, Risk Insurance and related fields. Alumini network got us some new companied approaching, but still it isn't that developed. Notable alumini in sports had been -Pinki Balhara ( south ashian games champion), Tapsee pannu, Sanya Malhotra, Urvashi Rautela (bollywood actress), Rest I don't remember any in corporate but surely there should be. Entrepreneur Cell was in its budding stage while I was in gargi.

You will enter Gargi each day with this awe ' Aaj kya hai College Me' This could sum up entire 3 years of my life. Either the host, or the participant had seen gargi at all faces. I am confident none other college offers this Good ECA. Both performing and non performing societies are well known in entire DU and even beyond. Zistatava- The NSS Diwali Mela and Reverie are two major Fests of Gargi that sees footfall of 10lacs and plus. Apart from that societies like Marketing society, PMR team, NCC, NSS, Departmental societies all host very successful events, workshops and seminars all throughout the year. If you wanna look for ECA and get DU exposure leave yourself to Gargi and then Gargi will groom you.

Starting off with the red brick culture any DU has, Gargi has one of the best Auditorium with spacious labs. The equipments are all updated and availabile. Computerised AC liabrary 2 storeyed (all recent books) greenery all around with 3 gardens. A very huge sports ground with more than 70 sports including archery and shooting. Very few du colleges offer this level of sports. The facilities of extra language courses, aerobics and yoga for all the students is amazing. Wifi is there for all the students. Only grievance being low /no networks inside campus. Also one of the best fests of DU -Reverie is hosted by Gargi college. The events, annual day, sports day all things are interactive. Competitions see participation from all around the country from iit Bombay, Iim ahemdabad etc.
