Remarks

A student choose any college so that he can pursue his interests and can get a safe future. The same thing was for me I am intersted in basic science and wants to do Phd in best university of the world like MIT, Harvard etc. That's why I choose IISER Pune.

Course Curriculum Overview

All faculty in IISER pune are Phdfrom top foreign universities in their respective area, hence they have very deep knowledge in their areas. They always focus on understanding the concepts rather than learning by heart and help students at each and every point.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are great but as a student you have to keep up with others academically students having low marks face problem during placements.

College Events

4.5

Campus life is full of fun and joy. A lot of clubs and extracurricular activities are organised by various clubs and group of students every week. Quizzes are orgganised. There is a movie club which display a movie almost every week during weekends.

Campus Life

The only thing in which college needs to gear up is infrastructure, classes need to repaired and labs need to be updated too. Sports facilities are good. Every year intra and inter IISER Sports meet are organised in which all the 7 IISERs participate.

Hostel Facilities

It is compulsory to live in hostels. I am also living in hostels. The student hostels or rooms are kept neat and are maintained regularly also the hostel atmosphere is just great. We have two hostels. Fees of hostels are covered in college fees.

SIES College of Arts Science and Commerce - [SIES ASCS], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
