Remarks

Only thing i would like to say is I am one of the few lucky ones to be a part of this wonderful college. KMC you rock.

Entrance Preview

Manipal academy of higher education premedical test. I was in the Merit list rank 1054. This is one of the best medical institute in India. This college provides a wonderful combination of skill and personality development.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Total 4 and half years of MBBS course. Followed by one year of internship. Course divided into four terms. First term Anatomy, biochemistry,Physiology Second term Pharmacology,Forensic medicine,Pathology. Third term ENT,EYE,Community Medicine. Final term Gynecology,Medicine,Surgery.

Internships Opportunities

Internship provided was a blend of wonderful experience in all the medical branches covered during the curriculum. Complete clinical orientation is provided which helps the student to decide about the field he wants to pursue in future. Stipend was around 6000 per month 15 years back.

Placement Experience

5

This college brings out a skilled person who is capable of starting his own medical practice joining any good institute. Students graduated from this college are placed all over the world at reputed institutes.

College Events

5

College is quite famous for its extracurricular involvement. Most of the festivals of all the religions are celebrated with equal bash and dhoom. Ganpathi visarjan is one of the most beautifully celebrated one which i still remember after 15 long years too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Manipal is one of the expensive colleges in India. Again indeed facilities were upto the mark when considering the fees structure. Not quite feasible for low strata of population. There are few seats available in general open category which are open for economically strained students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Economically strained students were offered scholarships. First two rank holders in PMT were given free education.

Campus Life

5

Extracurricular, labs, sports competitions such as debates etc were a common feature. National and international paper presentations were a regular phenomenon. Students were encouraged and guided to participate in such activities.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostels were A-grade. All basic facilities starting with clean air conditioned rooms attached bathrooms, small pantries etc. Washing machines for each floor. Wonderful hygienic mess areas in all the hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

Each passing batch has a close knit organization which comes under the alumni. There are yearly batch reunions and alumni reunions organized by the members. This year's 98 batch reunion is in DUBAI.

Exam Structure

Exams were according to terms of the course. Medical exams indeed are the most tough ones in all the professional courses anywhere in the world. So yes they were head breaking.

Faculty

5

Highly skilled and very much approachable faculty we had. USP of the college was its faculty and paramedical staff. We were answered with our queries very promptly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
