Remarks

I prefered to get admission in a morning college and the college has its morning shift. As I have to go to my office, I find this college timing very much comfortable. Another major point of mine to join this college is the subject combination. I hardly found any college that has subject combinations suitable for me. I did not want to take Economics and History.

Course Curriculum Overview

Due to the infrastructural problem, the academics of the college hamper to some extent although the faculties of the college are very much student-friendly and helpful as well. The college has ample faculties in each of its department. The teaching quality of the faculties are quite good. The college is affiliated to the State University and the Course Curriculum designed by the University is justified for the students.

According to me, the college does not offer any Placement opportunities and Job opportunities for the candidates because of the infrastructural problem. This is what I think is one of the demerits of the college.

College Events

The campus life of the college is average. The college does not arrange any extracurricular activities for the students. But a good amount of cultural events take place in the college including Saraswati Puja, Holi festival, and Rabindra Jayanti etc. The college also welcomes the Freshers' Programme in the the campus ground.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of the college is average. The college facilitates various sports activities in the campus ground. The wifi of the college is quite good, students can access wifi of the college anytime. The college has also a library with a medium size. The students can avail different books from it and can read books sitting in the Library.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
