Remarks

Since it has a lovely environment and is one of the most reupted universities in West Bengal. I always wanted to do my higher studies in mathematics and since Jadavpur University has a great faculty hence I decided to opt for this course

Course Curriculum Overview

Very updated. The faculty was one of the best and extremely helpful. We had internships and summer training opportunities. The faculties were part of several seminars and talks themselves. The enginnering departments had immense industrial exposure

Placement Experience

Good placement opportunities for the students of the engineering departments but not so much for the science or arts faculties

College Events

The college has three major fests held by each faculty.arts science and engineering. There are also fests held by each department and one tech fest held annually by the students of the engineering departments.

Campus Life

The campus has a central library which has s digital library inside it.along with a departmental library for each department. There are free wifi connections in almost each department. The labs in each of the engg departments and the science depts are also up to date. We have a gym and a few courts for basketball volleyball along with a large field.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Review of Jadavpur University

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
