Remarks

Because Jadavpur University is not only one of the best universities of India, it is also one of the few universities to offer IR course. Besides, the University is also improving its ranking day by day.

Course Curriculum Overview

The Course was updated but it should have been more updated. The faculty no doubt was very good and gave us a lot of exposure to the changing scenario of international relations - I do hope the faculty will remain so.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 1235 per year

Placement Experience

I don't have any idea because placements as such did not happen much in my department. I can only say that one of my school friends studied there in Engineering faculty and he is now working in L&T.

College Events

The campus life was really good. Plus the annual fest event was something which one cannot miss while being a part of JU campus - overall, the extracurricular activities organized in JU were really good.

Campus Life

The infrastructure was good but there is still scope for further improvement in near future. The library is good enough but there should be more books which can help the students in the near future - I hope the administration would look into it.

Hostel Facilities

I had not opted for hostel. All the 5 years of campus life,I travelled daily from my home to the University campus - so I don't have any idea about hostel life as such because I had not opted for hostel.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Review of Jadavpur University

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
